Hi,

I need help downloading protected video.

Before I tell you the site I want you to know that the site obviously wants to protect its content. Yes I mean PROTECT. I am sure it is like DRM-protected or something. If you don't mind about it, then it is great!

Anyway, No worries because the site can not do any legal action against you unless you live in South Korea. Unfortunately, the site uses Korean language.

No sign-up required, No log-in required

This is the site and you might be needed to close flash ad that is in the center of your sceen. On the page, look at the bottom part, you will see something like this screenshot.



I draw a red box around the link to a video.

Some of the videos would not work at all so I recommend you to try as same link as the screenshot.

There will be a pop-up windows and activex to install, otherwise you would not be able to watch the video. How irritating.


One more thing, I also tried to run the video in virtual PC and I got a message saying it wont work in Virtual OS. How the heck did it detect whether I was running virtual PC? My plan was to run the video in virtual PC and run recording software in my host computer to record the whole window of virtual pc program but it didnt work

The web-site uses ActiveX from Yundisk, Inc.
ActiveX objects can access anything on your computer, so detecting whether you use a virtual machine is not a big problem.

Also any technology can be used inside ActiveX to transfer data. It could be p2p technology, for example.

Most probably you will be able to record such streams only with screen video capture software.

Tried all the 4 softwares from the link.

Still they are terminated by the site.

I also tried to run the video from my sub computer and record from my main computer through remote access but I can not see the video on my main computer. Place where I should be watching video is just empty with black screen. Other things worked well such as just visiting the site but the problem occured when I started playing video. It seems impossible to do it. Maybe I should try with some hardwares(hope it doesnt cost much)

You get black screen when recording because you need to turn off video acceleration.

Also try online free screen recorders. I wonder whether they can be blocked as well.

Are you using Windows XP? It seems like the ActiveX on miraecpa.com is getting too much access to the computer. I wouldn't install anything like that onto my PC... only onto a virtual machine, that doesn't have any access to my hard drive (I remember that they can detect virtual machines).

Tried the online recorders but same thing happens.

I did not want to install the activex thing but I needed to watch it so I had no choice.

How do I turn off video acceleration? There is no option on the activex.

My whole screen is not black. It is just where video should be playing. I think they blocked it as well that why I only see a black screen through remote control.

I guess its time to give up. sigh...

That's right. The screen should be black, because the video goes to overlay. Some screen video capture programs allow to record from overlay, but most of them do require you to turn off video acceleration. If your videos is shown in WMP, then try the following:

Changed the setting as you mentioned

I could watch the video through remote access for about 3 seconds. The screen goes black again.

Yes! finally I got something!

first I tried the remote access and it didnt work well like I mentioned earlier.

I was wondering it could be the remote access program's problem so I tried 2 other remote access programs.

One was terminated again! but the other one worked even the quality was so bad. That is now my problem to solve.

Most screen capture programs listed at all-streaming-media.com can record video with audio.

You need to have a Stereo Mix / Wave-Out Mix option to record sound. If you don't have it, you can read the following:
Missing sound recording option "Stereo Mix" / "Record What you hear" / "Waveout mix"

Replay Video Capture and WM Capture use Universal Audio Driver, so you can record video with sound using them even if you don't have the Stereo Mix.

Setting sound doesnt seem to be so hard. I think I can handle this one by doing exactly what the link tells me :)
