2GB.com - Cannot Listen To Streaming Radio anymore

Hi my problem is not recording so much as I can no longer hear all my Australian "Commercial Radio Stations" via Streaming with Windows Media Player or Real audio? I just installed Firefox and Gmail don't know if that is a clue but they were all working yesterday. I can listen to their Podcast's download and save them" but not "Streaming Live. The 'Listen Live pop up window' of the Commercial Radio station pops up but nothing happens, just a sign saying "Waiting for Video"? could I have lost some Codec's or should I install new ones? I must have done something as there is four different stations that won't play including ABC Australia 2GB Sydney, 3AW Melbourne and 4bc Brisbane.Any advice would be appreciated. thanks Dasha:)

Dear streamripper thank you for your help and I will proberly come for more advice as I have just downloaded VLC MediaPlayer 1.0 and DVD Ripper, ImageBurn.

I want to capture these streams both video and audio
and burn them to DVD and CD 's but dunno if you can do it. But that's another story.

I also wrote to 2GB and they told me to download: wmpfirefoxpluginhttp

and it worked I only installed it to the Desktop so I am not sure it
was not just a coincidence but alls well now??

Here is the address of 2GB. They are in Sydney
Code:

2gb.com/
Thanks
I will make sure you recieved this answer before I close this thread
then I will start anoter re all the Above Cheers and Merry Xmas D

Re: Cannot Listen To Streaming Radio anymore

I don't have any problem listening to the streams from 2gb.com.

Try to listen to the streams and watch the videos from 2gb.com in the Internet Explorer. You don't really need anything to be installed to play Windows Media streams (you just need to allow Internet Explorer to use embedded Windows Media Player). You may need to re-install Real Player to play real streams.

The servers of the radio station can be busy. You can also try to listen to the streams different times during the day.

To record Windows Media streams you can use WM Recorder or WebVideoCap. Both programs allow you to capture packets from Windows Media Player.

Dear streamrecorder,:) I had (2) solutions to my 2 problem's!
First problem was' not being able to Stream my local commercial station 4GB anymore I wrote to them and they told me to download a patch fix from Firefox and that fixed it" I had just gone over to FF hence the new problem. Second Problem I solved by visiting the 2 sites that you suggested and others' I came across "Freecorder" and remembering that most of the stations used Real I also downloaded that and I can now d/load save and put them on my Sans Mp3 player. I am stll habving trouble with ABC radio' but have not tried again since, so will try next week! So there Ya go. thanks again for your help. Cheers Dasha :D

Freecorder is a free sound recorder that can record audio from your sound card.

As for radio stations, I think most of them use Shoucast/Icecast MP3 streams and you can use lots of programs to download such streams including freeware StreamRipper.

How Do I listen to 2GB -Sydney Au on a Mac computer

Hi

Anyone know how to listen to 2GB (Sydney) on the net - I have a Mac computer. Cannot use Windows Media or Real Time - I have Quicktime on my computer. Just checked Real Time needs Windows operating systems

If anyone out there can help - it would be great as I really miss this radio station - I think Newcastle is just not in the station's range.

Thank you

VLC is a freeware player for Mac OS, Windows and Linux that can play Windows Media streams without any problem. You just need to find the URL of a Windows Media stream.

I simply record from the Popup streams and then put the Recordings onto my MP3 to listen to in the Truck or Car'. you may be able to use this URL anyway they Australian Talkback stations Mainly! Hope it helps:)

Thank you

Just go to http://2gb.com/

and then Click on "Listen Now" it will give you a choice of which Player to use. You can download WMP, Itunes or Real player to play it. Just make the one of your Choice the Default Media Player :)

You can also use WM Recorder, freeware WebVideoCap or freeware GetASFStream to download/capture Windows Media streams. The above mentioned programs can download/capture multiple streams simultaneously. And you can use your sound card while they download or capture audio and video streams.

The only problem is that if you need MP3 files, then you will need to convert Windows Media .ASF, .WMA files into MP3 format.

Also note that if you record music, you may want to try Replay Music. The program allows you to split and tag songs automatically.
