Audio streaming problem from NMSHello,
I have a problem to stream audio from Nokia Music Store. This is quite strange as I don't have generally similar problems from any other sites. I have contacted the service technical support and we have tried together find a reason but without success. All the usual problem areas, firewalls and other security settings have been investigated etc. The problem seems to be quite tricky and I would appreciate any good ideas about the possible problem source. I can provide more technical details if needed. |
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSHi Skido
You're not able to PLAY the music at all? That could be an issue with your browser. But as i'm not familiar with the nokia music store, can you please post up a URL example that you're having trouble playing music from? Thanks, |
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSYes, I am not able to play any music from the site at all. And yes, I know the browser could be an issue but I have gone through all the browser settings and haven't found anything which would affect to the problem. Recently, Nokia has also published Music client software (like Apple ITunes) and I tried also that but the same problem exists there as well.
As I am living in Finland I am using Nokia Music Store Finland instance http://music.nokia.fi But they have similar music stores published also in UK, Singapore, Australia and so on, you can find "select country" in the bottom of the music store main page. |
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSIn order not to hit to the language barrier it is maybe better for you to check the uk site:
http://www.nokia.co.uk and there select "Music Store" |
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSI've got no idea why this would not work, it plays fine for me...anybody else have any ideas?

Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSWould it be possible that my WMP would have been damaged in some way? I reinstalled that but it did not help, so if there are some associated files which are not replaced while reinstallation? Still it is strange why it concerns only this service.
I have used Fiddler (http-debugger) to give additional info and from Fiddler process stream following error message detected: GET /WM/error-UserInvalid.mp3 HTTP/1.1 HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found I don't know into what "WM" is referring, maybe Windows Media..? |
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSWhat kind of web-browser do you use? Try Internet Explorer and see whether it works in it or not.
|
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSWhat comes to usage of Internet Explorer, I have used that all the time and it is a prerequisite option with NMS as it does not support any other browser types.
|
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSThis is strange..i'm not really sure what else to suggest. Did you try searching google for anybody else having this issue?
|
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSYes, I have tried to search matching cases with Google but without success. And as I already mentioned, also contacted store technical support but no solution from there either.
Since the problem is really tricky I felt I need some expert level help. On the other hand I should maybe accept that the problem is remotely unsolvable. I was hoping that error message produced by Fiddler (userinvalid.mp3) would raise association in someone's head but it looks like it does not help. |
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSTry to disable your firewall, antivirus, antispyware temporarily and see whether it helps.
|
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSWell, I have tried that as well. I disabled my Norton firewall but it did not affect to the problem.
Then anti-spam programs (Windows Defender, Ad-Aware) are only active while scanning is in progress. What comes to my Anti-Virus sw it has no setting it can be disabled temporarily and I have thought about that as one problem source. But I have gone through all configuration data of anti-virus sw and haven't found anything suspicious which might affect. In addition, anti-virus sw usually informs clearly if it decides to take some action. |
Re: Audio streaming problem from NMSI have to correct my previous post that there are some components which are active in Windows Defender also in those times the scanning is not running. But nevertheless, I have gone those settings through and haven't found any log info that Defender had blocked NMS streaming.
