adobeHDS - Almost Done

Hey everyone hope you all are well, for the past few hours I've been searching around trying to setup adobeHDS. It looks like I have everything working except the most important part: Link/manifest

I have adobeHDS.php setup and it has been tested by entering the following command into cmd:-

cd h:\adobeHDS
php adobeHDS.php --help

This displays list of all the commands within adobeHDS so looks like it's working.

I am trying to get videos from NBC Sports. I have Firebug installed and HDS Link Detector. But to be honest HDS Link Detector doesn't seem to display any links to be copied over at cmd

Can someone please share some light.

Thanks

Works fine here.

Code:

Processing manifest info....
Quality Selection:
 Available: 3451 3450 2201 2200 1401 1400 901 900 601 600 401 400 201 200 56
 Selected : 3451
Fragments Total: 3368, First: 1465, Start: 1465, Parallel: 8
Downloading 1572/3368 fragments

Maybe try reinstalling hds link detector and there is a possibility that hds link detector is not compatible with the newer versions of firefox.

Also, cross posts aren't really necessary.

Thanks for response. WOW! How on earth did you manage to do it mate? Honestly mate for the past 3 days I've searched around everywhere trying to find solution.

Can you please tell me what did you type into CMD.

The following is what I enter into CMD:-

cd h:\adobeHDS
php adobeHDS.php --help

This confirms that I have adobeHDS installed as it list all the options with help. So I'm sure everything has been setup correctly?

Sorry for cross posts just that it has been driving me crazy mate honestly... :(

If you have hds link detector installed properly in a compatible version of firefox, then the plugin should automatically find the link and display it in the lower right-hand portion of the screen. Simply click it (it will go into your clipboard) and then paste it into the command prompt (make sure you navigate to the php folder (C:\php) before pasting the link.

If you want to set a particular directory and/or file name for the downloaded file you can add the handles --outdir and --outfile to the end of the hds link.

If the hds link is not being displayed automatically then something is wrong, and my first guess is that you are using an incompatible version of firefox.

also, you must click on the hds link detector icon to toggle it on/off...be sure it is on before the video plays

One that works. Not the latest.

Also, seems the link above to the plugin may not have been correct. This seems to be more recent.

So go back to earlier versions. It works in v 31, and I think up through v38.

Fingers crossed mate. Looks like all fragments are being downloading now and it automatically selects the highest quality possible? Let's say it didn't how would I add the parameter on CMD so I can enter to downlaod the highest quality possible?

By default, yes, it picks the highest. Read the help file for how to specify which stream you prefer.

Check the manifest. Sometimes the downloader plugin will spit out some initial link that doesn't work, and sometimes the provider will throw in some preview stuff, so try again, and just make sure you have the correct link.

Beyond that, not sure what else I can offer.

Re: adobeHDS - Almost Done

How would I know if the manifest is correct mate?

Why are you asking me to test something I've already confirmed?

Re: adobeHDS - Almost Done

Thanks for confirming the URL. So when you completed the download was the final video working correctly? Was it not skipping?

Also, how come it says:-

Access Denied! Unable to download the manifest

Does that mean the URL has expired?

No. The video does not play correctly. As it turns out this video is protected with Flash Access so frankly I'm surprised the adobephp worked at all.

Further investigation showed me that there are several different manifests that are captured and the resulting videos consist of key frames and no audio (there must be a separate stream for audio, but I'm spending more time to see).

To my knowledge there is no public way to thwart Flash Access DRM.

You may want to test your setup on a file that doesn't use Flash Access.

i was able to download using the firefox plugin but the video came out condensed. missing a lot of frames. if you slow it down in vlc you'll see it's not playing fast. the frames are just missing.
