Recording VOD streams from Aebn & Hotmovies

 

Hi guys . .

I only registered here to seek help for this question, very interesting forum by the way!

I tried many software to try to record/sniff/download VOD streams from sites like Aebn , Hotmovies , dorcelvision , Salerixxx but all were unsuccessful .

Have any one succeeded in saving/ripping from these sites? if so please share your method here.

I can offer free pass to aebn or hotmovies for any expert who wish to try his method as long as eventually he should make it and save the stream.

I've done this before but its been a while (AEBN & HotMovies). You can sniff out the stream link using URL Snooper and you can download with something like NetTransporter or Orbit. NT was the best IMO since it was multithreaded so it was fast d/l. However, this only works if you are doing WMVs (there should be some settings in the account to play the vids in wmv format). If I remember correctly, AEBN new encodings are mp4 and this doesnt work on it. You may want to try RMC5 for that. I am assuming you are recording the whole movie, not just a section and that you have enough minutes on the account to d/l the whole movie.

I just tried Salerixxx with some success using RTMPDumpHelper. I haven't d/led the whole vid yet but at least it's catching the stream. Another issue its that the vid plays in low quality and it doesn't seem to be switching to hd when i click on it. So if you are happy with that quality then you can try that. Or you can try messing with the parameter to get the HD stream.

Same problem with hotmovies.

I tried a trial version of Replay Video Capture 7 but it only records two minutes and without sound (even after editing sound settings as instructed by the program).

Also, RTMPdump 2-3 is really difficult for me to use, can't figure it out.

edit: I'm trying to download scenes, not full movies necessarily.

Ok, to topic starter: try urlsnooper + Net Transport.

Works fine for me on hotmovies, only "problem" is it downloads the entire DVD and not seperate scenes, but that's a VERY minor flaw.

And it seems you don't need enough minutes to watch the full DVD, just enough for the selected scene to play. Net Transport will still download the full DVD for you.

I can tell, because I clicked one scene of 21 minutes and had 23 minutes in the account. Now, my minutes are spent but I still got the full DVD (yes, in a somewhat low quality, but still good to watch).

You don't necessarily need the full minutes if your d/l speed is faster the time it takes the movie to play.

I'm NOT going to test every single site for you in order to confirm

BUT I will suggest you try the following two programs, in this order.

1. Replay Media Catcher
2. Replay Video Capture

If the first DOESN'T record from any of those sites, the 2nd WILL ;)

on aebn open the free sample of the last scene in any movie. in the page source you'll see a manifest file. run that through ksm's adobehds script and you'll get all the scenes except the last one.

i think if you get free minutes you'll get an auth string to download the whole movie at full quality. but you'll have to use up one minute authorizing the download.

haven't tried the replay software as it's windows only.

I also noticed that the player has updated. It only downloads a few fragments, then nothing.

@nash28 That doesn't work anymore as it used to. If you had the link to the manifest file you could put that into adobehds and it would download all the fragments up until the scene you used to get the manifest file. That's why you couldn't get the last scene.

What you could do however was find a scene number that had a long "clipOffsetSeconds" value. That meant you could dl the entire thing.

So if anyone has a suggestion how to get around the new player, I'm listening :)

No news for downloading from aebn? I found and account with over 150 minutes.

Also, does anyone have a full version of Net Transfer? I downloaded it via download.com / CNET, but after a month you have to buy the full version...

I just don't understand fuckall about switch, foobar, f4m whatever... and if I understand, this will not download multithreaded like net transport?

Btw: anyone familiar with Adultrental.com ?

A pretty similar site, of which I downloaded some full dvds, which end up with an extension .m4a.flv

I can play them without any problems, but can't get them splitted with any program up until now.

Anyone got any ideas why?

I was unable to capture any of the clips with AdobeHDS.php.
I was given a link using the firefox add on but, when the generated link was entered into the command line I get the error message "Something went wrong with that request. Please try again."
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can get AEBN files to start downloading now but, after it gets a certain amount of segments it tells me access denied. So, somewhat successful with adobeHDS downloader. Please chime in if you can help.

Same here, it downloads a few fragments (around 6) and then every new fragment is the same as the last one. Maybe possible to reset the download every few fragments, but then you'll need a lot of license hashes.

I was trying with preview links. Are you doing the actual authorized stream? I was just testing with the previews without luck. I am yet to try this with a rental. A short while back downing rentals was easy. You could even use a program like VSO downloader.

Okay..so...in hotmovies..i choose the 10 mins verifying option..start urlsnoop..start my scene...snoop get url..drop into jaksta..
the movie is 88 mins..first i close the video window,jaksta stop at 23mins...second time just pause the video,got 30mins...both ways
the site tells me,your 10 mins.bonus is over...any more idea,to get the whole time? :)

Never been to hotmovies but, have you tired adobehds.php with the mozilla add on to find the link of the video you're playing. Like I said. I don't know a thing about hotmovies just aeben. Could be worth a shot.

To get as much of the movie as possible with hotmovies, I used nettransport with a lot of connections (40-60). To be able to use that many connections you have to regedit nettransport.

I think this is a lot like AEBN. If I actually rent a movie without using minutes it is easy to download the stream but, if you try by using minutes or start from a preview link then the download is interrupted.

You need to have as many minutes as it takes to download a movie. With just 10 minutes, you can never get the full movie.

You need at least 20 or 25 minutes. Or find a very short movie.

Both hotmovies and AEBN still work with adobeHDS downloader.
Someone indicated in another thread a hard cap on download speed with AEBN and I can confirm this to be true. A speed over 1000 kb/s will lead to a access denied error. A speed under will not and adobeHDS downloader will be able to get all fragments.

The downside is of course you will lose even more minutes compared to hotmovies (where there is no cap).

On AEBN a 24 hour rental might be the better option.

It doesn't seem like tubedigger works for the VOD sites like hotmovies. Has anyone had success using anything?
