How to record video stream from iransima.ir (Windows Media .wmv mms stream)


 
Ok, I have come across a website that seems impossible to download from. The problem is that before the main video is loaded, it first plays a 5 second ad, after this ad the video is loaded. Therefore the video recorders only download the ad and nothing else. The url is the same, the video does not have the same url.

mms://media.iransima.ir/tv3/tv3_13850301_017.wmv

There are too many stream recorders to try. My favorite one is WM Recorder. Try to use it in the PRO mode, this allows you to capture Windows media streams from WMP instead of downloading them. One of the best solutions I have tested.

I was also able to download with NetTransport.

Cool, yes. It first downloads the ad, and then continues downloading the main video. :cool:

Interestingly enough, the downloaded files only play audio, and the video is black. When I check the files for info it does seem to have video, and it renders well, but the video just does not work in wmp. Could this have anything to do with with net tranport?

Oops! I can't play it either. There seems to be the problem with net transport. I've asked its developer to check it out.

And hopefully Replay AV, Mass Downloader, HiDownload will make the necessary changes in the stream recorders very soon.

How to record Windows Media playlist from iransima with WM Recorder

And can you watch the stream (not the recorded file) in the WMP? The only thing I have is the sound.

If they have video you can't watch, you should contact the web-site support and ask for the system requirements.

Yes, I have the video but I can not watch it on my PC. I can watch the same video on the website, but the downloaded one (also wmv) just plays the audio, the video is black.

Its weird cus if it works on the website it should also work on my pc.

It downloads it, but why does the video become black? It makes no sense...

Use NetTransport with rtsp:// instead of mms://

Record Windows Media live playlists with WM Recorder


 
New WM Recorder can record Windows Media live playlists, as mentioned in its user guide:

I gave it a try (Version 11.3) but it still downloads just the first clip (i.e the AD) and stops.:mad:
I tested several other programs but nearly all of them failed.
I tested HiDownload and it works like a charm!:)
It downloads both parts separately (into separate files.)

They can not be played with WMP, or MPC (Media Player Classic). But VLC plays them perfectly. Just you need to choose the 4th audio track to be able to listen to the audio of the program.

Make sure you use WM Recorder in the PRO AUTO recording mode when you record live Windows Media Player playlist.

HiDownload works fine with them and NetTransport shouldn't have problems with them as well.

i am trying to download a stream a link from the following link rtsp://media.iransima.ir/tv3/tv3_13860707_015.wmv with hidownload, wmrecorder and nettransport but i am not successfull it only downloads first part.

What versions of WM Recorder, NetTransport and HiDownload do you have?

Did you use WM Recorder in the PRO Auto recording mode?

The developer of NetTransport tried to download and got 33Mb file without any problem. However my effort to record the stream with it wasn't that successful.

I can't play the the stream. I just see the splash screen and then everything stops. No wonder that I can't record it. I've contacted all the developers mentioned above, but I haven't received any help so far.
Try to contact the support staff of these developers through the web-site. Or tell about the bug to other developers.

Can you play the stream?

The developer of NetTransport showed me the log at it appeared that he was able to record the stream after several tries.

Can you please learn your download manager NOT to stop after downloading "advertising movie file" for this site?

NetTransport software is able to continue downloading after getting ADD movie file(add movie is 880KB) and getting the real movie file which comes after ADD Movie file. But your download manager stops after getting this ADD Movie file and is not able to get the real movie file.
