Record Windows Media .MP3 audio streams (mms:// .mp3 files) from Livesets.com

 

Hello,

with NetTransport and HiDownload , I'm able to rip the MP3s of the following site:

But the downloaded files do really sound destroyed, as if something is disturbing the file. Does anyone know a solutions for this problem?

I haven't seen any MP3 files streamed though MMS or RTSP protocol. MMS protocol is used to stream Windows Media files. Just rename your recorded .MP3 files to .WMA files and you shouldn't have any problem playing them.

Thanks for your answer. But those are really 192kbps MP3-files, don't have a clue why I do have such problems with the files. You can actually hear the actual track at the downloaded files, but it's very distorted.

Free sound editor Audacity supports MP3 files, but doesn't support WMA files so you may try to open your recordings with it.

I don't have any problem playing these Windows Media files after renaming them.

Ok, you're right, it works by renaming. The thing that made me curious is, that by right clicking on properties on the file while it is streaming, even Windows Media Player tells it is an MPEG Layer 3 file.

I have installed Hidownload and Nettransport but still haven't figured out how to do it.

WM Recorder in the PRO mode can perfectly download/rip/capture/record streaming music from ondemand.livesets.com. Replay AV also works fine with these Windows Media MMS music streams.

If you have problems finding stream URLs with freeware URL Snooper or any other URL Finder, then you can try demo versions of WM Recorder and Replay AV.

Yes, I can record the stream with any program.. butwhat program can rip (download) files?

WM Recorder is a stream ripper software. Replay AV can record from the sound card, but it can capture/rip/download MMS Windows Media streams as well.

Ok, can you please explain how to rip (download) a set from ondemand.livesets.com using WM Recorder 12 (I have installed it and cannot download any set from livesets with it)?
