Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

I am using GetFLV (registered version) and am unable to download the most recent episodes of programs since around Friday 24th August 2012. In Getflv I keep getting the message "A Digital Rights Error has occurred"

I have emailed GetFLV support but so far they have not come back to me.

@cwaite

I'm having exactly the same problem dating dating from the same date and also haven't heard back from GetFLV tech support. I really hope they find a solution to this.

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

any way of resuming downloads that appear to be frozen? i'm using latest version of getflv, registered yesterday and am trying to download 2 large (45 minute) about 500mb files from YouTube each time they get stuck about 149 mb into the download for some reason. I can't see a resume option. if I double click and click on start it seems to go haywire, the size of file disappears, and anyway nothing happens to restart the download. I have deleted and tried again on both and got stuck at nearly the same point. they are both Scottish TV videos RTMP and both about the same length. a couple of medium size one have also 'frozen' as well though it was fine with a 150mb download from Iplayer. is there a size limit or something?

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

Every version after 9.1.0.0 comes with a bug. When downloading streams without a fixed end, a live stream for example, the FLV Downloader part is bugged. Like always downloading a live stream never automaticly stops. That's correct and the way it always has been.

However, every new version seems to "expect" more data coming in although no data is sent from the server anymore. You can easily spot the differences looking at the "Remained" column. In version 9.1.0.0 for example the "Remained" time stops when GetFLV does no longer receives data from the server. In all the new version the time keeps counting on and on and on. Not only it's harder to check if a stream has ended it always produces buggy/bumpy/skippy files.

I mailed your support at least three times about it but nothing changed since 9.1.0.0 and the last version I tried (9.1.1.4).

So since I'm forced to use 9.1.0.0 I mailed your support again, with a "suggestion". Instead of fixing the bug I asked how to disable/override the Flash version check that GetFLV does. This way I could use an old version of GetFLV and still update Flash.

hello 9.1.2.6.

new Video Capture feature is great to have as a feature in the new version. this and RTMP Record are still being worked out obviously, but these things take time.

only really bad thing ive noticed in this new version is the FLV Audio Ripper doesnt seem to be working properly for me anymore. ive been using J.D. Purcell's FLV Extract and VLC for these conversions in the meantime.

happy new year everyone

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

As of this morning I'm having problems with GetFLV being able to download links from digitalplayground. When I select watch movie, instead of getting the flash player with the play button and timeline, all I see is a still jpeg. This is only happening on my laptop running XP, IE8 and the lastest adobe flash player. This just started this morning. It works fine on my home pc running Windows 7 with IE9, and even the trial version works on a different laptop running Vista with IE9. Any change recently? I'm running GetFLV version 9.1.2.8. Has XP and adobe flash finally reached EOL?

Is this the feedback thread for Getflv?

I want to record live broadcast from tastytrade.com

Downloaded the latest getflv and does not capture anything. I have a very slow internet connection and want to record the broadcast stream for viewing later.

Thank you for any assistance.

Hi, I try to download http://www.hulu.com/watch/504250 from Hulu, but the video's always stuck at ~60% and it doesn't resume. Any idea why? I'm using 9.3.4.2

Also, will there be support added in for Daisuki.net?

iPad mode doesn't help at all, it's actually even worse because it doesn't play the video.

Any solution to that?

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

Hello,

Used Getflv to download some videos of different length from a rtmpe server. the video after downloading have issues playing in any other player but the getflv player. (win 7 x64 tried 2 computers)

if I open the file with VLC or MPC (newest versions) the video length shows as double of what it really supposed to be a 7min vid shows at 14min. the playback video plays at half speed and audio plays at chopped up pieces (not stretched or slowed down).

the converted file by getflv has exact same issue. does not matter what set of conversion I chose mp4 avi etc.

I used handbreak an other encoders to renecode the files and Ic an not change the issue
meanwhile I can open the original downloaded flv by getflv player with no issues.
I tried fixing the video with getflv but all it does is make it worst, the fixed videos show wrong length even in getflv (but still it plays it correctly) and it has no effect on other players and devices like ipad and android.

I don't understand how getflv player gets it right and why all other encoders and player go crazy trying to work with this.

here is the Mediainfo of one of the files after video fix with getflv
actual play time on this supposed to be 7:09 min:sec

I think the problem here is 15FPS. Mux FLV into MP4 and set constant FPS to be 29.

How is getflv player plays it right but no other player can get it right?

I did the mux with handbreak constant 29.97 frame

that made no difference
still the 7min vid shows as 14min

9.5.8.5 fixed the issue!

Just one more thing, can you make it so it gets the actual file name and not name the file according to the web page name?
The same website.

One more thing I noticed is that I have to let the video play in the background in the getflv for the downloader to download the file. if I close the webpage or just play another video on the same page it stops recording it.. any idea if that can be fixed?

The short videos download fine, But one of the videos is almost 2 hours long and gets cut in the middle (the last lecture) it stops exactly after 241MB out of 444MB tried it 5 times , I left the player in the background with or without nothing changes.. what is cutting this video lecture?

I used RTMP recording that one I tried 3 times for the 2 hour video and it stops recording randomly at 98.4%, 68% or 37%
the RTMP recording is slow and if it hangs at 98% I have start over for 2 hours..
Is there anything you can do about it.
Thanks

------------

I was able to RTMP record the hour lecture finally, 4th time is a charm, but if this feature could be improved for longer video it would be great and save me couple of hours and whole lot of headache.

---

1 final question, in RTMP record my flv files are automatically coverted to MP4 with almost exact same size and same quality but I can not duplicate that result with the regular downloaded flvs. which settings are used automatically for converting flvs to mp4 in getflv?

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

It would be great to get support here for GetFLV as I have never had any response to emails sent to their support (support@media-office.com)!

I have been using the product for a while mostly downloading HD programs from iPlayer. As I live outside the UK, I use VPN (Private Tunnel).

This all worked fine until a couple of weeks ago when I got a message from iPlayer that I needed a new version of Flash player, which I duly downloaded and installed. The GetFLV said I needed a new version of GetFLV which I also downloaded and installed. I since downloaded a still newer version of GetFLV (9.5.8.9).

However, I still get the same message about iPlayer requiring me to download the latest Flash player.

iPlayer works fine when accessed through the BBC's website and I have also been able to use Applian Replay Media Capture (although it refuses to download HD!).

Any suggestions?

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

Hi,
I am using Windows 7 with the latest flashplayer and GetFLV 9.5.9.1.
I have tried both IE 10 and IE 11 but I cannot download from Amazon Prime Instant Video.
It used to work a few months ago - but now I get a message saying that the video cannot be streamed - and that I most likely needed to update my flashplayer. However, that flashplayer is up-to-date.

I have tried just using Internet Explorer (ie not GetFLV) and I could stream the video without problem. Therefore, the issue must be with GetFLV... any ideas ?

Many thanks in advance....

It's been a week now and I have not heard *anything* back - neither via email nor here. I saw a new version 9.5.9.3 which I installed and tried - but got the same result (ie I need a new flash player, which I updated to no avail).
Please, will you at least respond ?
