Re: HowTo Instructions for Removing DRM with drmdbg & FreeMe2 (from Windows Media Pla

i have been succeed in solving the readprocessmemory_error problem.(xp2, windows media player 10, FairUse4WM 1.3 Fix-2)

1.use windows media player 10, not 11.
if you use 11 now, you can follow the steps:

(1). uninstall wmp 11 (control panel, add/remove programs, windows components)
(2). uninstall wmp 11 runtime (control panel, add/remove programs)
(3). uninstall Microsoft User-Mode Driver Frameworks (control panel, add/remove programs). if the Wudf01000 confirmation box appears click OK and continue
(4). Open a command window. Click Start-->Run enter cmd and hit enter.
(5). change directories: cd \doc*\all* <--puts you in \Documents and Settings\All Users
(6). remove unwanted attributes from the DRM directory: attrib -s -h DRM
(7). Open Windows Explorer, navigate to \Documents and Settings\All Users and then delete the DRM directory
(8). go to microsoft.com/download and get wmp 10
(9). install wmp 10

2.upgrade your drm at:
http://services.wmdrm.windowsmedia.c...en/indivit.asp

3.install FairUse4WM 1.3 Fix-2

4.open a .wmv file that has drm license, access the license.after pop out a windows says "you have received a license"(wait untill the play button is available, but don't hit the button),close the window, then close the windows media player.

4.use FairUse4WM to transform the file.(you can search for how to use FairUse4WM)

sorry for my poor english.glad to know if i can help.

Re: HowTo Instructions for Removing DRM with drmdbg & FreeMe2 (from Windows Media Pla

I am having a problem with drmdbg.exe extracting the keys. I have the Indiv01.key located, and everything has been individualized, but when I try to run the Multi Scan, no DRM2 folder or DRM2.key is created, even though WMP starts playing the music file. Also, no SID information is outputted. I am running Vista 32.

Thanks for the work so far

I do not have a indiv01.key in my cache folder, only a indiv01.tmp file. A search for indiv01.key yielded nothing.

What gives?

Thanks.

Same ! Help anyone?

Re: HowTo Instructions for Removing DRM with drmdbg & FreeMe2 (from Windows Media Pla

I have the same problems.

First off, I'm using WMP 10 on XP (SP3) inside a VMWare virtual machine.

I have individualised the system, getting me the following text in the text box next to the "Multi Scan" button in drmdbg.

Quote:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\DRM\IndivBox.key
v11.0.5497.6285
I know it's not v11.0.6000.7000 but that's what I get from individualising, DRM media plays fine in WMP and I don't know how to get a different version (I have no "DRM\cache" directory, no "Indiv01.key" etc and I do have both hidden and system files visible)

I get the ReadProcessMemory_error and WriteProcessMemory_error on every version of drmdbg I try and no DRM2 directory or key file appears. I would guess that it can't debug the wmp process so it can't extract the key file, since the name implies it is a debugger similar to ollydbg and wanting to read a process' memory confirms this.

I've tried every suggestion here, including deleting the DRM directory contents.

I also tried FairUse4WM on a DRM protected file that does play fine in WMP10 but FairUse4WM tells me:
Quote:

---------------------------
Unable to recover private key
---------------------------
No license available for specified file.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
A different version of FairUse4WM could get my keys ("2 keys found") as soon as it started without me selecting anything. However, when I tried to run the DRM protected WMV through it I get:
Quote:

0 files converted.
0 errors.
1 warnings.
C:\foobar.wmv does not appear to be licensed to you.
Even though (as I have said) it plays fine in WMP10 and is definitely protected (VLC plays garbage when it tries, my network activity shows a licence fetch by WMP and WMP even says when it is downloading the licence).

Edit: Fixed that last problem using the following forum thread
FairUse4WM Error: filename.wmv does not appear to be licensed to you :)

I have the same problem then ghell. Also, I cannot use the trick of Milotis with fairuse because I cannot register in my country to Napster.

Anybody has an idea on it ?

Thanks,

I also never use Napster. It shouldn't be necessary, even for audio. As long as you can play it in Windows Media Player, you should be able to remove the DRM. The wma/v file should have a URL inside it that tells it where to go to get the licence file (used in conjunction with your IndivBox.key for generating the content decryption key) and the only way I can see that needing napster is if you downloaded the music with napster and they use their own web server for it (which requires authentication) - in which case, you would already have napster.

 If no one answers this soon, I'll understand seeing as it was started over a year ago...

I followed everything up to the point where it says " when you find the key" but I have searched my entire computer for anything with "Indiv" and I have no luck finding the Indiv01.key or 02 and so on.

I have individualized, I ran it, funny enough, I have found 2 diff downloads for it, one opens the GUI version you speak of in this thread, and the other just uses the CMD, anyways I changed the paths, and I made hidden and hidden system files visible, went into the DRM file, but no Indiv" ".key file found. What am I doing wrong? If you can, dumb it down a little more starting with what causes the file (Indiv" ".key) to be there in the first place.

1. My system is Individualized

2. My paths are as follows in the drmdbg.ini (And i did check this using show hidden folders and files):
Code:

[IndivBoxKey]
path=C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\DRM\Cache\Indiv01.key
[drmv2clt]
path=C:\WINDOWS\system32\drmv2clt.dll

3. The top box shows up with my path and "v11.0.6000.7000"

4. my WMV DIR points to the folder containing the drm locked music

5. when i hit multiscan the box above the clear button fills in with the song but the box to the left of the clear box remains blank.

6. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium.

7. I have read through several forum threads but have not figured it out yet...

Quezicotl Says: Is your windows 32 or 64, if 64 maybe you should try entering Windows 64(if it exist on a 64bit system) instead of 32.
