Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersHi mce,
A possible global bug in iVN Lite. Running latest iViewNapperLite.hta (directory number is 20100816) in XP Home SP3 IE error message thrown at beginning, letting nothing run after the iVN Lite window opens. Code:
Internet Explorer Script Error We've been running iVN Lite smoothly for many months now. Yesterday we applied KB983583 - "Security Update for .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 on Windows SErver 2003 and Windows XP x86" and the updater reported successful installation. The bug began after that update - for what it's worth. The big Napper (your latest version 20101014) runs fine. thanks for all your support for your apps! |
Re: ABC iView Downloader (batch version) v15.70Quote:
I noticed that v15.7 uses "http://173.230.146.115/iview/api/?seriesIndex" which is empty now but "http://173.230.146.115/iview/api2/?seriesIndex" seems to have JSON type data. I am not a napper user, but was just wondering does napper shares the same backend json_parser.exe and json_parser_ser.exe binaries? Is possible to use the napper JSON parser as quick workaround till next version comes out. |

iVNlite uses a Javascript class. BTW: There is no update to iVNlite yet, hopefullt it will be today but may be a bit longer. |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersCleared the cache. Downloaded iviewnapper_20100816 from http://users.on.net/~m.elliott/i/index.html. Same result as before - cannot find the catalog. ????

http://tviview.abc.net.au/iview/auth/?v2 I need it to finish the iView Downloader batch file version. I've done some changes and this is the last piece that needs to be done. Thanks! |

Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersiViewNapperLite 20101016 running perfectly.
Big ups to you, mce, and thanks. |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersI've updated the iView Downloader batch file version. You can grab it from here.
There is no "minimal" download because the JSON parsers have been changed and "xml.exe" has been removed (no longer needed). |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersQuote:
It worked eventually so here's a mirror: iView_Downloader_v15.80 |

Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersQuote:
A general question for everyone out there... I generally try and download in my off peak time 2am-8am. I usually am up late and select the programs I want with the batch file, and then kick off the download before I go to bed, which means I am using peak time before the 2am crossover to off peak. Does anyone else have a good method to schedule a download of a batch of programs? I was thinking of modifying the existing batch file to be able to select the programs and then allow me to save the download.xml file it creates. Then schedule a different batch file which would load up the xml file and connect, etc, and then proceed to download the files at the scheduled time without any user interaction. Not sure of the complications, or if this is feasible, but any suggestions would be appreciated... Thanks. |

You must get the download_list.xml file from the cache directory and put it in the same directory as the batch files. You must do this before you close iView_Downloader_v15.80 because iView_Downloader_v15.80 clears the cache directory before it starts and ends! Let me know how you go - I haven't tried to "schedule" it yet :o |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersHi mce
Thanks for this. I'm new to this forum but was quite happily using the ABC Iview Downloader for MacOSx v6.7.3 until recently when it now fails to read an index. Do I need to use a different downloader now or is it possible to enter a manual path using this script if ABC have modified their index? |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersNew here, well my first post but have been reading with much interest.
I'm having a problem with iView Downloader v15.80. Many of the files are coming up as "invalid selection. Just wondering if its happening to anyone else. Thanks for all your work :) |

Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersHi Yanski
I've had a go at the firefox add on that you wrote. I'm using 10.6.4 OSX and everything up until the window to save the file worked fine - however, terminal came up with an error message :- The file “b.command” could not be executed because you do not have appropriate access privileges. Any thoughts? (I did type in the Snow Leopard Script into terminal that you had) |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersIt looks like some work and some don't, ie Seven Ages of Britain
Luther Collectors The It Crowd get "invalid selection. The Old Guys, 7.30 Report and some others work fine. |

I don't know what it could be as none of the selection mechanism was touched in the transition to v15.80 - no reason to. |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersThanks for trying :)
Its really weird , I've been happily using your previous versions without a problem. Have tried clearing the download list and refreshing the cache. |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersQuote:
I could make a batch file version for you so that I can see exactly where the message is coming up. I'd just alter the "Invalid selection" messages so that each one is unique and then you could just tell me which message you are getting. Do you want to try that? |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersQuote:
I deleted all the old files and the folder and made a new folder. I think I must have messed it up somehow though, or it would still be working lol. Oh i don't want you to go to all that trouble, but thanks for the offer, really nice of you :) |

There seems to be a small problem, (which I can easily live with). When running the iView_Later batch file, it always fails to find/download the first file on the download_list.xml. Have attached the log and list as text files. No big drama if it cant be fixed though. I am quite stoked I have this now!! . |

Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersQuote:
On Akamai servers, the first file will be dropped because the batch file will try to use the Hostworks server info first. Then once it skips the first file it actually get the correct server (Akamai) info assigned to you. Notice in my log file that the first file has no server name? No server name defaults to Hostworks which is right for me, but not someone on Akamai. Thank you for your log file. That has helped find the solution to your problem :) I'll fix it in a minute, and upload it to the same URL as before. :o |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersOK. I've fixed the iView_Later.bat file (I think :o ). You can get it from here.
Let me know how you go;) |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersQuote:
Thanks if you could that would be great. Oh and another thing I noticed is that a logfile isn't being created like before. |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersQuote:
Again, nothing was touched in the logfile stuff in the transition to v15.80 (no need to). You should only get a "download.log" file when more than one file is in your download list. I'm not sure what to make of you issues. What Windows OS and Service Pack (if any) are you using? What program did you use to UnZip the zip file? |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersG'day,
Can anyone tell me if lightguard or vipher are going to fix the linux script? It stopped working a few days ago. Linux (Bash Script): Version 6.7.3 (Linux universal binaries)Thanks. |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersOh thanks, I didn't know that about the logfile.
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit, no service pack, I used 7zip to extract |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersCan I get some feedback on how the Nappers (with the recent changes) are going on Akamai servers?
|
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersQuote:
EDIT: Finished! New scripts are on the wiki now. I've tried to write the script so that the same script works on both Linux and OSX, so the only thing that is different is the rtmpdump binary. I've also uploaded an OSX version which is untested but will hopefully work. I've tested the Linux script and it works for me on Hostworks however Akamai and OSX haven't been tested since I don't have a Mac. |
Re: How to use iView (ABC Australia) downloadersQuote:
Very much appreciated. I am going to use this alot. Are you thinking of posting this up on the wiki? I would have thought that it would be of use to others as well. |
