I did look at them on github, only horacio's version seems uptodate, but I see it is only for Windows. Others were last updated before chaturbate changed some things this year in Jan-March. So I am not sure if these will work properly.

Why should we change anything if it works?
I would not say that Horasio’s version is up to date. He only added bat files for widows users, tweaked some colors and messages, without any other changes in the main logic. So, inside it is the same script, and as a linux user, you will not see the difference.

Chaturbate has not changed anything so far, there were some issues with HLS streams, but it did not affect rtmpdump solution.

Oh thanks for pointing out. I saw .bat file and the Requirements listed the windows version of rtmpdump-ksv so I assumed this setup is for windows only. I will try it out on linux!

I use this version on Ubuntu 16.04

and it works pretty well.

The only problem you might get is rtmpdump.
By default Ubuntu 16.04 has already had pre-installed version of rtmpdump, but to use this script you will have to compile and install patched version: rtmpdump-ksv.

After you execute you need to find librtmp.so.1 file in rtmpdump-ksv directory and manually copy it in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/ directory (or /usr/lib/x86_32-linux-gnu/). Otherwise there will be a "collision" between the old and patched version of rtmpdump.

I think the 'crucial step' is that most of you don't have rtmpdump.exe, ffmpeg.exe, ffplay.exe etc somewhere in the path.
I often repeat it as a parrot. I think it is easier then to put the required file in the directory where the precompiled exe file is located.

Batch script 'nm.bat' can be anywhere and have function to make easier run of mfc.exe, su.exe and cb.exe.

Last night I tried something with that script.
The problem is I don't know exactly how that script working when everything is ok.
I see it recording 'ts' segments in length of about 14 seconds.
Is that OK?

Then it looks for the m3u8 and starts downloading by spawning new process when they come online automatically. I would have say 5 links in that file. When they come online it automatically records a .ts file into same folder into a single file untill they go offline, sometimes over 2GB lol..... Does this make any sense or help??

It all works fine, only that now its saves a new file every few seconds constantly every 500kb - 1 mb

I have changed nothing with the code... it just suddenly started to do a couple of weeks ago after months of saving whole session files.

It's all clear to me. I tried to fix the script but obviously is a more difficult case.
So the script currently captures 'ts' segments of about 14 seconds. These segments could be linked later but this is not a solution.
In addition I noticed that there are even three different resolutions in the same segment!
I put the ffmpeg in the script and the recording is done OK but this script has a very long code and it all matches it's almost impossible mission.
I just finished my script (cbffr.py) which recording in a very similar way as chat.py and can be a good substitute.
Cbffr.py starts with cba.bat and can record a specific model 24/7 if it has free disk space ;)
Recording is performed in flv format at the highest available resolution. It will not be a problem to make a 'ts' variant recording if it is necessary. If more than one 24/7 models must be recorded, more copies of cba.bat scripts should be started.

These are actually the same 2 files. It seems that the KSV in the first variant has forgotten to edit the date.
I downloaded now a variant that is even 6 days younger.
So the conclusion is that there is no reason to panic, because it is the same files;)

My Cbate tool hang up really quick. So i need a helper that write me a tool based maybe in python code. This tools must be checking 24 7 the incoming traffic bandwith und if this falls under maybe 1000,00 kbit/s (Traffic of max. 1 cbate stream) the python tool kill my cbate tool. After this the cbate tool will restart with the tool Restart on Crash.

The python tool must have a textfile to edit the path of the tool to kill like first line: C:\Test\cb.exe

Can anyone do this for me?

I have played with the code & I think the problem is in "r1 = self.session.get(m)"


because the second count "c" now imediately counts to "5" & calls "self.ok = False"

I can change 'self.ok = False' to 'self.ok = True' and everything works as used to, which is ok as long as there is no error or cam reset. But it does give demo of how it should run while all is ok with the stream, although it wont close the stream and reset. Or increase 5 to 1000 for similar effect. But this is only a hack /work around in the crudest sense.

@Horizon correctly noted where to intervene for what he should congratulate. I managed to solve the problem of closing the file and at one point I thought the script was repaired but I noticed that the stream is being recorded in different resolutions, mostly at the beginning of the file.
So after recording I processed the files by converting TS to FLV and then remove about 11 seconds of file startup.
I also added colors for better visibility. For that must be installed:

pip install colorama
pip install termcolor



All of the above problems don't have my 'cbffr.py' and 'cbffrts.py' scripts (https://codeload.github.com/horacio9...ous/zip/master) but I see most of you want just this 'chat.py' script. In fact, I did not try this script at a time when it worked without problems, so I'm interested in what are the differences compared to this version?

Well done my friend.... only on my system it seems to record in approx 2mb files still. I have increased 'c' to 500 in function Def run. Now at first glance it records in much larger files & with your added code when the cam goes offline, the process would appear to close and work fine. Should the cam come back on it restarts recording.

I find having one python file to run much simpler overall. I have had a quick look at your code.. Does it only record 1 cam at a time?? I am having some problems at the moment getting it to record.

I think resolution problem is with hls_url ending with: '_trns_h264/playlist.m3u8'
Link ending with '_fast_aac/playlist.m3u8' or '_aac/playlist.m3u8' do not have this problem

You can remove # in script, line 180 and see full url in frame.

My scripts is for single models but you can start scripts with batch file for more options.
You must have rtmpdump.exe and ffmpeg.exe in the path of your PC.
You can try 'remote' scripts, they work without a start option that raises a separate frame for rtmpdump.exe or ffmpeg.exe
But these two scripts work in collaboration with 'cba.bat'

Nice one.... Thanks for explanation. Perhaps this changed at chaturbate only it used to work just fine. I am starting to like playing with python script as much as watching the cam models. I have the basics and trying to understand sessions/urls and reading/writing files.

This chat.py code is so easy, you leave it running the whole thing is automated. If any of the cams ( or even all of them) come online that are in the.txt file, it records them..... its so simple.

Scripts `cb.py`, `cbff.py` and `cbm.py`(options numbers 0, 1 and 2) can be started separately without `cba.bat` but my recommendation is to use `cba.bat` to start all 5 scripts. However, if you want to record a certain model permanently, then it is obligatory to use `cba.bat` to start `cbr.py` (option number 3), `cbffr.py` (option number 4) and `cbffrts.py` (option number 5).

If someone for some reason does not want to use cba.bat in that case script `cbr.py`, `cbffr.py` and `cbffrts.py` must be started with model name at the end of command line, which can be seen in the script 'cba.bat'

python cbr.py %MODEL%

This is the reason for the error shown in your screenshot above.

If you want to record more than one model at the same time then you need to start another copy of `cba.bat`.

It would be best to have these files in the `C:/-cba-py` directory

This python script was released on October 30, 2016 by @mutation and was well done before a while when Chaturbate made some changes.
I've made some changes and I think the current script can record without problems over 90% of the Chaturbate model.
To be more accurate, 100% records well all models whose url ends with: '_aac/playlist.m3u8', while the model whose url ends with '_trns_h264/playlist.m3u8' may be a problem not to capture the maximum resolution (1280x720 or 1920x1080) Compromise 1024x576. In most cases, these models start recording at 640x480 resolution to switch to 1024x576 after about 10 seconds and remain at the end of the recording at that resolution. The worst variant is when the recording often switches between these two resolutions.
For this reason, I invite the author (@mutation) or anyone else to try to find a better solution than the current one.
As far as installation is concerned, it is simple and you can first look at the original post from the author of the script:

I have slightly spaced rows and placed colors for a quicker insight into what the script is currently recording. I also added the start and end time of the recording.
I've added also full hls-url so you know whether it's a classic 'aac' or a new 'amlst' system that does the actual problems.

In your existing Python 2.7.13 installation, you need to add this two modules with this commands:

pip install colors
pip install termcolor




As you see on the above screenshot if you do not want a model to be recorded enough to put '#' at the beginning of the line.
This will be accepted after the new start script, though I think it would be good to have it enabled during script work, such as adding new models to chaturbate.txt for new recording.
The most important feature of this script is 'no freezing'!

In the meantime, I made version 1.0.2 with even better visibility.
I sometimes also noticed the error in the print line so I hope it is fixed now.



You can also try 'Horacio_TS_FIX.bat' who all TS files in the directory where they are converted to FLV and fix any possible errors. After that, it is not a problem to edit the file. I use 'Machete 4.4 build 22' software for that.
I know we all have some 'own systems' but it's always good to try something new;)

If there is a problem with the recording of some model, there is always my old and good rtmpdump batch script 'cb.bat' that lets you record any model in full resolution with no freezing, of course if it is not 'pvt', 'group' or 'hidden'.
In addition, the recorded file is in FLV format so it is possible to access its editing without previous conversion, as is the case with TS format.
In line 48 you can edit your directory for recorded files. Of course if you have rtmpdump.exe in the path you don't need to put this extra.

It is important to note that each of them works independently of the others. It is up to you to try and choose the one that suits you best.
For you and me the worst combination is to try nothing and ask questions.

I've made new versions of these scripts (v.1.0.3).

What's New?

1. cb.py has now downloaded the role of cbm.py which means that now cb.py has rtmpdump recording and also ability of ffplay.

2. Due to the reduction in the number of frames, there are no more separate rtmpdump, ffmpeg and ffplay frames.

3. I've made changes to the graphical display so I do not bother with unnecessary data.

My recommendation is to prefer cb.py and cbr.py (options 0 and 2 in cba.bat) because they are recorded using rtmpdump.exe.
Currently ffmpeg.exe version has minor problems when recording 'amlst' type of CB url's.

Would really appreciate if you or someone would provide some guide to get this script running on macOS. I installed rtmpdump and ffmpeg using homebrew. I followed the setup instructions including changing the directories for where the cb_model.tet exists and where i want to store the files (in the config file). but when i run the script using the command "python cb.py" i get this error:

I've changed all CB scripts and I hope that these changes will be less of a problem.
My suggestion is to use cba.bat to start all scripts that should be in 'C:/Windows' together with CB_Model.txt, rtmpdump.exe, ffmpeg.exe and ffplay.exe.
All other files must be in 'C:/-cba-py' directory.

The problem is i dont have windows, i'm using macOS Sierra. while i could run windows in virtual machine, i cant afford to have the fans running at all times due to it.

.bat files dont work on macbooks
