Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

Anyone else having problems with the latest version of GetFLV? For example, BBC iPlayer streams are detected but download never starts. These work fine if I revert to an earlier version.

Problem downloading from ImLive using GetFLV

*subject*

When I download a stream from there using GetFLV, only 40-45 seconds of it is recorded.

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

Actually, its only the flyNN.globalmailer.com (where NN is either a 1 or 2 digit number) servers that are only allowing 40-45 seconds of a stream to be downloaded. The other servers that it uses for streams don't have that problem.

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

I cannot download from BBCIPlayer with GetFLV 9.0.3.5. The player asks me to enable JAVACRIPT, which is already enabled in IE9. I am using Windows 7 X86 with all the latest updates. This problem only occurs if I use GetFlv to download from BBCIplayer. I can watch programs from the BBCIplayer using IE9, Firefox 5, No problem with JAVASCRIPT. Thanks for any help. I am using the latest version of Adobe Flash player.

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

The latest version of it is telling me that it doesn't support the latest stable version of Flash.

EDIT: I fixed the problem by reinstalling it. What caused the problem is that I deleted the gui.dat file in \Program Files\GetFLV). It would be nice to know what every file that is installed does. That way you can see if there's any way to trim the size of the installed program.

Re: any way to speed up GetFLV's capture rate?

Try a newer version of it. Your problem was probably solved.

Hi, the above quote was answer to the question (posed by billsantos) why GetFLV doesnt download faster than it should or how one could increase the total download transfer rate in GFLV's gui.

@billsantos
Sorry, somehow your post got lost when i merged your thread with this troubleshooting thread.
You may want to tell us what your download rate is (which video link?) and then we could compare rates. You dont mean the "rate of capturing URLs" (lol), do you? If so, simply ignore. Webpages are being getting complexer and GFLV is far from a perfected piece of software. All we can agree with is, GFLV is quite mature (stable!) and with some patience and trying gets your video downed, somehow. Problem (the download task) solved -- Isnt this what counts most after all? ;)
Yes, try the latest version (v9.0.3.8).

@Zero3K
getflv hasnt been writing much lately (forum posts or PM's). Thanks for sharing your experience, tests, suggestions, review, criticism and feedback with us. I'm sorry that getflv hasnt responded so far and that your posts seem to have got ignored. It's probably still summer, hot and vacation at getflv's place (Ch**a :D), maybe that's the reason for their low profile these days. We'll see.

Dear prospective customers, hold on with your purchase. If there is no urge to buy, dont rush with it. :)

I had a similar problem as you, From GetFLV 9.0.3.7 and onwards, the program would close as soon as a stream was opened, the problem was becuase I still had a 10.2 version of flash installed, new versions of Getflv do not seem to work well with older versions of flash? when I updated to the latest version of flash it solved the problem and the program no longer crashes as soon as a stream is detected

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

That's exactly how GetFLV is installed correctly:
+ download and install the very latest GFLV version
+ then download and install the very latest Flash version (for Internet Explorer)
+ then launch GFLV and work with it.

It wont crash anymore.

Recently, however, new versions only let me download from RTMPE streams (mainly hulu) immediately after the first installation. I've been using 9.0.2.8 because that's the last version I could find that works, but recently it's been telling me it can't work with the latest flash player and won't record streams either.

I'll go on a video and instead of a list of available streams to record appearing, the list remains blank.
The only way to fix this is to uninstall and then immediately re-install the program.

Before this I was seriously considering buying a lifetime licence, but this has been going on for a few months now and I am very dissatisfied with it.

I have the exact same kind of problem. A pop-up like this shows up every time I start GetFLV.

"This version of GetFLV can not work with your flash player now. Please install latest GetFLV from ourwebsite to check it again!"

I have the latest flash player (10.3.183.7) and FireFox (6.01) installed along with the latest GetFLV (9.0.4.1) program.
I've tried to install and re-install all of the programs four times now, still doesn't work. :(

Re: GetFLV can download Hulu.com videos now? I have problems with it!

Lexus, have you installed latest Flash for Internet Explorer 8? The GetFLV browser engine is 100% based on Internet Explorer, no matter if you configure your Firefox (or Safari or Opera) to be the default web browser on your system.

if you have, and still experience problems, please point to the HULU url which you're interested. getflv will check it, and me too.

Oh crap! I've must have posted in the wrong topic.. Sorry!
Thanks for the heads up on IE and the fast reply though. I installed the latest flash for IE and made it also the default web browser, and i re-installed GetFLV after that but i still have the same problem.
Im actually not after any Hulu videos, but i hope you can help me anyway, im experiencing a similiar problem on some other sites.. take tsn.ca for example. Here you have 2 screencaps.

First one is just when i start up GetFLV, this pop-up shows up.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/30/86040399.jpg/

Second one is when im browsing the tsn.ca site, it shows just a black box instead of the actual video. (you see the video list on the right)
When im just surfing with my original browser those videos shows up for me but not in the browser on GetFLV. :(

I don't have the cracked version, i only have the version that is feautured on the main site (not the full program) only the "demo" of it. But i wanted to test it out (if it worked properly) before i bought it.
Because i don't want to spend 60$ on something that doesn't work.

And im especially interested in getting videos from that site i showed you in my earlier post (tsn.ca)

If you have any other suggestions of programs, please share (already tried with StreamTransport, Internet Download Manager, Replay Media Catcher, WM Recorder etc. and none of them grabs the files.), But the best thing would be if you knew a solution to my problem with GFLV.

Im not even gonna hesitate to buy the full version of GFLV if i know that the program will work properly.

Also, big thanks for taking your time. (sorry that my english isn't that good, im from Sweden but i'll hope you understand anyway.) :)

I unistalled the previous version, and installed the new one.. still doesn't work, the pop-up doesn't show up though which is good i guess.

But i think the problem is with my computer actually. The first time i installed GetFLV it worked. I could watch and download the clips from the site i posted earlier (tsn.ca.) I believe the version i used then was 4.0.3.9 (This was like 4 days ago) - I thought the program was great.. the next day i was planning on buying the full version of it, so i could get the full lenght videos. but when i started the program that day that pop-up came up, didn't read much into it at the time so i opened up tsn.ca, but there it was, the black box (window showing the clips).

The problem is the same with StreamTransport (which uses a similiar interference as GFLV, but isn't nearly as good) I could play the files before but not download them, but "something" happened along the way, now I can't even watch the clips, it's just shows that black box.

I also tried a system restore without any luck. Also, the funny thing is that i can watch the clips in IE and FF without any problems at all, but not in the actual program (GetFLV).

Thanks to all for the taking the time.

Is there any files from GetFLV that is not deleted when you unistall the program, maybe some files in the registry?

Well, it seems that duplicate urls are still being shown in the URL list. You can find an example by going to a model's stream on hxxp://www.livepimpin.com. It seems that only one of the urls detected on that site is recordable.

The duplicate URLs problem seems to have got worse in this version, at least for BBC iPlayer. I've just tried downloading Click - 10/09/2011 and it initially listed 8 URLs. Pausing the stream, clearing the URL list, reloading the page and then resuming playback resulted in just one URL.

Sorry, I should have included a screen-shot - please see the attached image. I guess it's just the way that the BBC encode their URLs. The final "bitrate-less" URL corresponds to the stream being played which usually defaults to 480kbs at 640x360. Using either the bbcmedia or cp41752 URLs seems to produce the same results.

getflv 09-22-2011 04:59 AM

Re: GFLV updates : A new version of GetFLV is out!!

This is not duplicate URLs problem. GetFLV can capture different bitrate video stream for you. For example, the "1500K" stream is the HD video of BBC iPlayer.

:)

obelisk 09-24-2011 05:26 PM

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

Yes, sorry, the BBC iPlayer URLs aren't duplicates. There may be two for each bitrate but they are subtly different, and they both produce the same result.

I tried to open it in the getflv browser, and the video url shows up in the list at the bottom, but when I click download, it goes to the download manager, and nothing happens.

Is there something I'm doing wrong?
