The following was mentioned:
Set your router to forward chosen port to internal IP address of DVR

Of course you set up forwarding in the router that is used where the DVR is.

Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote place

Okay, I hate to be a bother, but I'm still having problems and I would ask for your assistance in this thread. I am unable to connect to my CCTV DVR. However, my problem is slightly different than most as I cannot connect to this DVR either locally or remotely, leading me to believe there is something wrong with the interaction between the PC and the DVR.

What I have:

TM8-Pro Multi-Camera DVR (more commonly known as "TM Pro 8")
Linksys BEFSR41 V3 router
PC running Windows XP
RemoteManager (remote viewer program -- more here: http://kr105556579.trustpass.alibaba...Software_.html)

What I am trying to accomplish:

View DVR from the LAN (specifically, the PC)

What I have done so far:

I have been able to establish a local static IP address for the DVR, as well as fill in the rest of the information. I have set up forwarding for the necessary ports 80 and 6100. I have also successfully installed RemoteManager. So far so good.

My Problem:

I can't connect to the DVR from the PC. I am not able to access the DVR through either a Web browser or the remote management software itself. When I attempt to connect to the local IP address through a Web browser, it attempts to reach dvrlink.net to no avail. When I attempt to use the software, I get DVR System error(1004) when attempting to connect through port 6100, or DVR System error(1003) when attempting to connect through port 80. I have tried changing the ports and after setting up forwarding to the new ports, I receive the same error messages.

Please note that these are different error messages than supplying the wrong login information or entering bad information in general. This implies that I am successfully connecting. However, since the documentation on this program is scant, I'm worried this might be a DVR software error, in which case I would be powerless to do anything with it.

At this point I've tried everything I can think of, which admittedly, probably isn't much. Can someone please help me?

Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote place

Need help to set up remote connection.

I just set a security camera in my house. I want to remotely connect to the dvr. I follow the tread on how to do port forwarding but it still doesn’t work. Please help me if I miss something. The user manual of the dvr doesn’t tell anything about port forwarding or remotely connecting the dvr. Here was what I did.
1. Connect the LAN CAT5 cable to dvr and router/modem (AMBIT U10C109) WAN port.
2. Set configuration on dvr software( the program name is CMS )

-set LAN
-set DDNS
-set PORT
3. Set port forwarding on AMBIT router/modem

(The public interface ip address I got it from whatismyipaddress.com. it doesn’t change even though I shutdown the AMBIT router/modem several times (so, I believe it’s a static ip address)

I believe this is everything.
At my office with another network, when I tried to use IE by putting this ip address http://71.xx.xxx.xxx, I got this message. "Oops Internet Explorer could not connect to http://71.xx.xxx.xxx"

I got the same message when I put this ip address http://ddns03-a5-e6.dvrdomain.com

"Oops Internet Explorer could not connect to http://ddns03-a5-e6.dvrdomain.com"

Please help!

Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote place

It is working now. I just found out that the program requires to run activex. After I allowed it to run, I can connect to the dvr via both the CMR security monitoring program and Internet Explorer (not Firefox).

Anyway, thank you very much to everyone who contributed this useful forum.
