Hi blimey, I did download the episode "The Three Stooges - Hoi-Polloi" and I also downloaded some of the "Bewitched" episodes. All in FLASH_480K_4x3_23_98__file format.. Thanks again. I also noticed the memory leak problem. I am sure it will be repaired in the next updates. Thanks for your very useful info.

As the getflv guy mentioned a few messages back, 8.8.24 now finds all the urls, so all three stooges should work now.

Note, however, that old stuff like three stooges and bewitched only have the standard quality (what hulu calls "360p") actually on the server. So only that link will actually download.

You can tell that only the standard quality is available for that old stuff because even when you click between 360p and 480p in the flash player window, the video will look exactly the same in both modes.

Thanks blimey, yes, it all works with the new version 8.8.24. I saw the post by the GETFLV guy. They are quick in solving these bugs You are very bright yourself. I enjoy reading your technical posts A big thanks to the GETFLV developers.

Re: GetFLV can download Hulu.com videos now.

When I download videos from Hulu at 700K stream quality, the playback video exhibits a double image bar across the bottom of the screen. Also, at times, the playback video will freeze and the audio will continue to play normally. I tried different flash players, they all play these videos showing the same problem. If any member has any idea in how to correct the problem, the help will be most appreciated. Thanks.

Re: GetFLV can download Hulu.com videos now.

I'm not having any trouble with 700k videos (which are not h.264).

All of the h.264 videos, on the other hand, require much extra care to play or transcode. The problem is that the way GetFLV is building the flv file from the stream is a little bit of a kludge in regard to the way it is time-coded. You may notice that h.264 downloads go past 100%. This is related to this issue.

However, EffectMatrix Total Video Player plays them back pretty well. And - believe it or not - the files actually play even better once transcoded to another format like xvid.

The best* transcoder for the files produced by GetFLV is Format Factory. You just need to be careful to set the framerate to that of the original flv file.

So, my suggestion is to try EffectMatrix Total Video Player to play the file, or try to transcode it to xvid with Format Factory.

If none of these work, provide the link/title to program you're having trouble with.

-----
*While GUI based transcoding utilities like Format Factory and FLV to Video Converter Pro 2 are good for transcoding flv files (for the average user), these utilities generally will not provide as good results as command line programs like ffmeg, mencoder, etc. It is possible to remux a h.264/aac flv file into an mp4 file or mkv file without any transcoding - using the command line programs.

Thanks blimey for the detailed explanation to my problems. I will follow your suggestions posted here, and I will let you know the results of using these applications. I have the problem in most of the Alfred Hitchcock Hour episodes on Hulu(700K) and the black-and-white episodes of Bewitched on Hulu(700k).

I tried both free programs. Now, the files play correctly. Thank you. I am sure your advice will help all of our members. Thanks.

" cannot be fully downloaded. The downloaded video is missing a few minutes. I tried all different streams for this episode with the same results, the video cuts off at the same point every time. Any idea what can be causing this problem? I have version 8.8.34. I can stream the video OK. Thanks for your help.

They usually need the http url (to the title) in order to check it. The rtmp url usually doesn't help.
