Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote placeHi. I am also trying to set up dvr to watch on my iPhone. I have managed to set up through my wifi but am unable to view it away from home. I have followed the sticky post at the start of this post but still no success. I use sky broadband and am using eagle eyes to view cameras. I have a dyndns domain name matched it up between iPhone and sky router but still no joy. What ever i try whether its putting the ip address straight in to router or eagle eyes it just says "cannot connect to this ip address". Is there anyone that could help or give me some advice please. Thanks in advance.

To recap I have set up dyndns, put that address into my router to allow acces then gone to dvr app on phone and set the address to my dyndns address. Is this all right or am I goin wrong some where? |

Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote placeHi Guys I am a professional in this and hopefully this topic should be answered once and for all!
Firstly to answer some of your questions: Why my DVR can only handle two simultaneous connection: Its a basic DVR. doesn't have too much resources in the network section! Does the DVR itself count as one of these 2 connections: No :) Now the main bit: All you need to do in order to watch the CCTV from home is to setup port forwarding properly. Here is a free guide to help you in the process: http://qrcctv.co.uk/cctv/cctv-port-forwarding Please let me know if this helped! |
Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote placeI don't know what software are you using and what kind of operation system do you use. The ONVIF camera software I use made my things much easier. It is compatible with Windows 7 and it can be used to record and save the live video stream, implement PTZ motion control and alarming function, and it can turn USB webcams into an IP camera. In my opinion it was designed for companies, but I think you can also use it, if you download its trial version. You can find it here: ONVIF downoad

Re: How to connect DVR via internet to watch CCTV cameras from a remote placeIf you want to view the camera remotely. You need to register for an account on the dyn site or use the free name service of the recorder (if available). Then find the IP address of the recorder and go to the modem to open the view port. Good luck :D
