Any suggestion for my reported issue where the video download hangs at 99.9% but does not get pieced back together? I sent a PM the other day with details. Thank you.

@getflv I am hoping to hear a response from you soon regarding my PMs. Please let me know if the sites/streams I discussed are incompatible with your program.

I tried again with the recently published 9.8.198.58, but the problem remains. The download stops at 99.9% with all fragments downloaded, but cannot be joined.

I realize connecting a tv provider's account to Hulu streams differently? or something along those lines?

Whenever i try to watch something that's only available on the web via my cable provider, i don't get any streams to download. If i watch something readily available, like a Hulu exclusive, i'm able to download it.

Hoping this can be fixed.

thx

Do you mean watching something your cable provider hosts On Demand? I get the stream links for my cable VOD, but they are encrypted.

Well no -- in Hulu it lets you attach your cable account and watch other shows that aren't on Hulu -- but ONLY via the web.

Whenever i try to rip one of those, i don't get the option to download, i get the advert to download, but not the actual stream itself.

I didn't know about that. Can you provide some examples? PM if you think it is sensitive.

Here's the show "Ladies of London" for example

And here's what GetFLV does (the circle just keeps spinning)

They don't support my provider. I know this isn't a GetFLV solution, but assuming this is the show you are trying to grab I would suggest getting it from the network's site. AdobeHDS seemed to work.

Yeah i know, but Hulu is preferred cause they're often higher quality and don't have the logo in their streams when streaming.

The same thing happens for me when viewing regular episodes. It happens in both kernels.

Same for me on USA shows like White Collar and SYFY shows like Defiance. Needs a provider login.

I meant that many shows, regardless of provider, never actually play in the 'browser'. But for other sites that require a provider login, I find that GetFLV can't correctly pass my authorization back to the host site. So I end up having to attempt authorization over and over without ever being able to play the video.

That's what I was saying as well. I was just adding those shows to your list of shows that don't show the download links because they need provider authentication, which GetFLV no longer can handle at the moment. It used to.

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

I have been having serious problem downloading from Hulu for the last couple of months.
Every time I click on any video it will play for about 1 second before the stream turns black with a spinning wheel in the centre. Download options do appear at the bottom but they are different from the usual ones and none of them work. I have tried on two different computers but the results where the same.
Hulu works normaly through regular firefox or chrome and the only potential clue to what is going wrong is that when I right click on the stream the Adobe Flash Player listed is an out of date one that I am no longer using.
Please help me fix this problem as the new seasons of shows are starting and my internet is just too slow to stream satisfactorily.

Even though the video is not playing in the browser, I have been able to still select one of the streams and download it for later playback. Does this not work for you? I'm using version 9.8.185.18.

No. I've tried uninstalling and downloading new versions but the result is always the same, When I try to download a video all the columns on the download menu such as percentage, speed and size stay blank and if I try to change the file destination then it crashes.

Windows 7 Pro, GETFLV 9.8.198.58 with Chrome Engine
Movie download from Hulu stalls at about 93%. Cannot recover via stop/start like prior versions of GETFLV allowed.

Sometimes, I have been lucky enough to capture the movie all the way to the credits if the download was at 99.9%. I've had to verify if the main movie was downloaded by playing the movie with VLC and jumping towards the last 5 minutes of the movie.

Unless you need the movie credits, you may have the main movie captured.

A suggestion.

That does not apply to my situation. GetFLV downloads hundreds of fragment files but is unable to piece them back together, resulting in hundreds of encrypted files.

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

I downgraded to version 9.8.185.18 from 9.8.198.58.
It appears that 9.8.185.18 is more successful at recording long (2 hr) Hulu movies without stalls. However, it does stall sometimes as well.
Once the download stalls, recovery no longer works for either version.

New version 9.8.205 has the same issue. It actually seems worse now, the program freezes more often...

I think Hulu have changed something again.

Older episodes are still in 400K, 650K, 1000K, 1400K, 1900K, 2400K, and 3100K, but episodes made available from Oct 7th are only in 1000K or 1900K.

Please look into this.

Even older episodes are only coming up with 1000K and 1900K, at least for me. As a test, I used adownloader which can view the available streams and those are also the only ones it is finding. Pretty stupid that Hulu would downgrade the video quality.

I don't see any change. Episodes that aired last night look no different than a week or month ago. I still see the quality range from 400 to 3100K.

Very odd that everyone's getting different results even when using alternative programs to GetFLV.. I tried Daily Show from Oct 7th and could only get 1000K and 1900K.

I also attempted The View, GMA, The Chew, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon from Oct 7th and 8th and was getting just the same two stream options.

I see what you mean now. My first observation was that the shows you listed are all live talk shows and the show I tested was scripted. But I am looking at a couple scripted shows from yesterday and they are also limited to 1000K and 1900K.

I would suggest using youtube-dl for CC shows. The bitrates seem higher too...

if this happening you yes can edit 1900K -> 3100K until getflv writing people having fixing problem. 3100K still yes being on server.

getflv writing people: hulu rtmp going away. you yes switching to hls. yes tracing ios app for learning. other sending method for hulu yes having too much drm.

Thanks for the tip. Standard web browser tracing shows .ism URLs, but I don't seem to be able to grab the Manifest.

How is this done? What is to be edited and how do I get GetFLV to change it to the 3100K stream if it is not listed?

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

ive said it once and ill say it again. getflv support staff is terrible, they hardly ever respond unless its something trivial. and when they do respond they just say, "try latest version" which really isnt support. we pay so we want answers. Its not hard to keep us informed of changes. Notice they dont even offer a change log. total crapware.

mewikime 10-10-2015 05:17 PM

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

OK, so that's what we edit; but how do we edit it?

Are you talking about the Task Title when "select stream filename as task title"? Cos that only affects what the filename on your system is, not what the bitrate of the stream is.

Re: GetFLV - Troubleshooting many problems with GFLV ...

Crackle.com is giving me some issues too. It downloads to 99.9% then hangs, much like the WWE Network does with GetFLV. The .ts files are all there in the tmp folder, but it never combines them into one big file, so all that downloading winds up being a complete waste.

Wish someone would answer questions, especially how you can edit what is being downloaded as far as quality is concerned.

Oh, and strangely this website is acting a bit funny. I was not able to reply to this thread without first running IE in Administrator mode. Then the links worked. If anyone else is having problems, give that a try.

Crackle.com appears to use FAXS, so you will probably not get a solution.

Code:

#EXT-X-KEY:METHOD=AES-128,URI="faxs://faxs.adobe.com",IV=0x42cd...
