The 700k file downloaded fully with getflv and played back completely with both getflv's player and applian's flv player.

The Medium/h264 file doesn't download, but as I mentioned before, I don't think h264 files are really there for this particular content.

I'm using v8.8.29 of GetFLV. They change the version almost every day, and they don't give any history of the changes. I don't care to be re-installing it every day if I'm not having any problems.

Thanks again blimey for your help, I did try Hulu Video Downloader. I could not download the Three Stooges episode mentioned in my previous post. The program says file is Downloading, and nothing happens, My problem is that the file will download, but the episode is missing a few minutes, It just cuts off at the same point every time. I tried the 700K stream, same thing. I may try GetFLV 8.8.29. And I will let you know the result. By the way, there are other "The Three Stooges "episodes on Hulu that are not playing in their entirety when they are downloaded. But will play OK when streaming. Three Little Beers by them also exhibits the same problem

What is the exact file size you're getting for the 700k version of the 'Healthy, Wealthy and Dumb' epsiode? I get 89.6MB (94,055,552 bytes)

What player are you using?

I will try the newest GetFLV (8.8.35) and see if it has the problem.

I cannot download the 480k and the 700k streams, I get a red "X" mark. The medium stream starts to download and stops at 1.% completed . I have version 8.8.35, something has changed either with GetFLV or Hulu, in other words, I am unable to record any stream for this video episode. I am using Zoom Player and BSPlayer Pro for playback of flv video files. Thanks for your help.

Blimey, I was able to finally download this episode. It cuts off at 16 minutes and 31 seconds, I was able to download the medium stream only. Using version 8.8.35, the size of the file is only 107.94MB, I think it should be around 130.00MB.

I was able to duplicate the problem you describe on the episode 'Three Little Beers'. It also stops at 16:31. I'm not sure what the issue is yet. However, the episode listing states that the episode should be 16:31 in total. So it seems that GetFLV is not building the file correctly, as it gets to 16:31 before the show is over. I've seen this before, but in those cases the video would continue playing past the end time. I will run another test with a different method and report the results.

Edit: it seems that for VP6 files (like 480k, 700k), the full episode will download. h264 (Medium, 650k, 400k, 1Mbps) will come up short.

Thanks blimey for the research on this GetFly glitch. At times, GetFly is unable to grab the 480k and 700k streams, and will only download the h264(medium, 650k,400k, 1Mbps) streams. I have the same problem with some" I Dream of Jeannie" episodes on Hulu I will wait for the result of your research.

Using rtmpdump, I have confirmed that the full h264/1Mbps file is being sent by the server for the title; 'Three Little Beers'

So, it seems that the problem of closing the file prematurely, at least for this title, is a bug of GetFLV.

You can check this yourself by using getflv 8.8.21, which will work for this title. It will stop at 73%, but the full file has downloaded. But, 8.8.21 only finds some of the urls.

So, if you want this fixed, you should report it to getflv. Be sure to mention that they have to test it on the h264 versions of specific titles, and that they must download the entire program and check the end of the downloaded file.

Ok, good. A big issue with GetFLV is to really nail down the time coding/indexing for h264 .flv files so that the timecounter is exactly accurate.

If the bug doesn't get fixed fast enough for you, you can use rtmp.dll from 8.8.21 with 8.8.35 and it will work. The percentages in the download list will be all screwy though.

I forgot to mention that when using rtmp.dll from 8.8.21, the index of the saved .flv file will be off. This may cause playability issues with some .flv players.

You can remux the file into a .mp4 file quickly without any transcoding, and the index will be correct.

Yes, with version 8.8.38, you finally have the index/timecoding done perfectly on the raw saved .flv files, including all of the h264 .flv files.

This means that even the getflv flv player (or almost any flv player) will now play the .flv files smothly and with accurate time information.

There is one issue, however. Sometimes getflv will save a .flv file with a filename that includes "%20". If any .flv filename contains "%", the getflv player will not open that file. However, the getflv player will open the file if the user renames it, removing any occurrences of "%".

Hi GetFlv, when playing back the downloaded "The Three Stooges", "Bewitched", "I Dream of Jeannie" episodes on Hulu, at medium and 1Mbps streams , the video will freeze at the same point, but the audio continues, The only solution I have found to cure this problem is to use the latest version of FlvExtract and Yamb, so that I can demux the video file to .mp4 video and .aac audio. I am using Zoomplayer. But the problem is the same with other flv players. Thanks again for developing this great program.

I'm not having that problem. Is this content that you have freshly downloaded with 8.8.38? Of course, any content downloaded with previous versions may have the problem. Do you have this problem even with getflv's flv player? Do you have any codec packs or splitters installed on your system? Have you tried playing the files on another computer? Which OS are you using?

I re-downloaded "Three Little Beers" with 8.8.38, and it plays till the end with a length of 16:31 using the getflv player and some other players.

Can you confirm that you have the same problem using SMPlayer, or with EffectMatrix Total Video Player - or with any player while having the CoreAVC codec installed?

Does the flv file still convert with Format Factory? If not, the remuxed mp4 should work the same as input to Format Factory.

Also, version 8.8.39 is out but I don't know what the changes are.

What I am experiencing is that the video freezes and the audio continues to play with the downloaded episodes( in any stream and format). The episodes are fully downloaded with GetFLV 8.8.39. To correct this, I use FLVExtract and Yamb, thus I end up with .mp4 video and aac audio files that play perfectly with Zoom Player, BsPlayer. FileFactory accomplishes the same, even though much slower than using FLVExtract and Yamb.

I have tried to use EffectMatrix Total Video Player with CoreAvc. With EffectMatrix Total Video Player I receive "cannot init video renderer" error. I am sure I need to set up CoreAvc to play the files using this player I have not tried SmPlayer yet. I will report later on using it to play the regular .flv, flv. h264, .mp4 , .aac formats.

ZoomPlayer and Bsplayer use Ffdshow codecs. Both players will exhibit the same problem of video freeze and audio continuing to play (downloaded formats.flv , flv.H264, aac audio).

oops! Sorry, I thought the Hulk was on cbs. You are correct, nothing on Hulu is working. But, GetFLV is definitely working and I'm still able to download the twilight zone from hulu. Those shows are on cbs, hulu is just providing the link. :)

GetFLV is in repeated contact with the author's/publisher's server. Every time the program is started, it downloads key files - including a kernel and swf code, from the server. If these files stay the same, it just downloads the same files upon every execution. But if they change, the program gets updated with the new files. In this case it was the swf code that fixed the problem.

I suspect that the problem was related to getflv's method of grabbing the urls and/or playlist. But FDRLab's various programs didn't have the problem - so whatever method they use must not have been effected.

Has your getflv crashed when downloading more than one show? It bombs on me if I try to download two or more shows. It seems to crash more often on hulu too.

Ok, this program is driving me nuts!!! I can't get anything to download without getflv crashing. I can't figure it out, I've tried rebooting, I tried changing the download location to a different hard drive. I get application error and could not write to some memory location. I'm ready to give up!!! It crashes at a different part in the download. Mostly on the three stooges and I dream of jeannie. I'm trying them one clip at a time and it still crashes. Is there anything I can do?

I have the same problem. I found out that my problem is caused by my Internet provider service, download speeds are poor at times at my end. I usually download one show at the time. Try to download one show at the time, and find out your download speeds.. Use SpeedTest to verify that your Internet Provider is delivering the speed you are paying for. Good Luck.
