Hello All,

Is there anyway someone could use ffmpeg and capture/record the following for me?

Then use something like dropbox or something to upload the file for me to download? I'm a noob and I can't capture this stream because I'm not in the states.

If someone could do that for me I'd gladly compensate for time and the size of the file.

i have a technical one this time.
knowing that some youtube Oylmpics videos are in mp2t, i managed to get a m3u8 link early in the video, before it disappeared,
hence i always get , even if the YouTube site is still playing

Doesn't work for me. I followed the exact directions, but in the Web Console nothing shows up with extension m3u8.

^ Some videos (NBC replays, highlights, etc) don't need this fancy workaround, you can just use a flash downloader add-on to get them

Have you actually seen it work? I've tried that as well and it doesn't download the entire video. Just segments of it.

Okay, this works real well actually. Only one download cut off early so far. I have downloaded about six videos so far. Thanks to everyone. And here's a new site to see if anyone can find the m3u8 file, or the true video file stream that would be needed.

It's on the new Pac-12 video site (Pac-12 network).
Yes, you need a password to login to watch live and on demand events, but they have free videos up that uses the same video player and technology.

When using web console in Firefox I can't find the .m3u8 or appropriate video file from the Pac-12 website. It works for the NBC Olympics content. I think the Pac-12 uses a different video than .m3u8.

Can someone (anyone and everyone) view the video from this link (in Firefox), and find the appropriate video stream link so we can use that in FFmpeg (command prompt) and download the video(s) from that site?

Hi. Are you outside the USA? I had the same problem. I connected with a http proxy without a american dns. Login to a DNS server and select "Autodetect proxy configuration..."

I am having the same issue. Maybe our question is under the wrong thread, as this thread is for "streaming" and not downloading non-streams. I get the little flv segments, 1.7mb each... but would love a workaround to get the entire video... like they were getting with the steams in previous posts above.

Big, big thanks goes out to SVNPENN! After numerous program installs, nothing recognized the video, alot of time spent on this.

It literally took me 15mins to get this to work....it's basically spelled out for you here. Thank you once again!

Oh, & once i played the video on nbcolympics.com; video showed up in my youtube acct history, but will not play in youtube (says video "is not available in my country?!"); but there is a standard youtube address so maybe this can help others who know how to sniff it out from there. good luck.

I can no longer download videos from July 30 or earlier. The videos still play like normal in a browser, but can no longer be downloaded. I would guess the videos are expiring in some way or other, and later days will eventually expire too, but it's strange because they still play like normal in a browser. Do they still work for anyone else?

Hello, can someone help me out here..

I've been using the FFmpeg/m3u8 method to download videos from nbcolympics.com.

Everything has been working fine until now.

I can't seem to completely download this one stubborn video: http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/vol...vs-serbia.html

Everytime it gets to about 21:35 downloaded, FFmpeg stops and it gives an error.

I have a feeling this can be fixed with a simple FFmpeg parameter but it's just a matter of an experienced user helping a non-experienced user out a bit. :)

Hey, by the way, if you seek to 21:35 into that video, an experienced user might be able to tell right off the bat why it stops abruptly.

someone just pointed out to me somewhere else that the
geo-blocking for the youtube olympics videos are no longer being geo blocked.

hence everyone one in the world can get it,
it might be more "stable" to get a m3u8 link from youtube.com/olympics then from NBC itself.

Well, that would have been nice and all... except for the fact that the video selection on Youtube is different from the ones on NBCOlympics. I can't find any of the Artistic Gymnastics qualifications videos that i'm looking for.

I found a tool the searches cache for video files and merges them if they are split up into pieces... VideoCacheView... you can get it from CNET.

You open it, it searches all internet browser folders and displays a list of videos. You can right-click and refresh to get the most recent cache files. You can right-click and play each one to verify, then you can right-click and save anywhere you want. I sorted by "Last Accessed Date" to get the newest videos that have entered the cache. Pause the video so it doesn't auto-play the next video... sometimes that overwrites the data... but pausing it allows that one to stay in the cache after is finishes buffering the full video.

At exactly 3min30sec mark, I keep getting this clipping error. It keeps going for like a while and then it works again.... wondering if anyone has explanation. It's right when it cuts from volleyball into the semi blank screen. After a long while it then comes back to normal recording....

Anyone got this type of error trying to download the nbcolympics video?

At about the 34 min or so mark, I got this error for the above video. After that error kept going for about 5 more min, the whole thing stop downloading and i got an invalid file.

Much much appreciated if anyone can see why this is so. I 've tried different resolution, etc and still got this error consistently. Thanks.
