Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

Is it just me or has rtmpExplorer stopped working with Channel 4.
Up until the start of the week it was all working find but as this week has progressed it has got worse and worse. Now I can navigate to the page http://www.channel4.com/programmes/b...re/4od#3256177 for example and the page loads but there is no player - thus I cannot start playing the program and thus not save it.

On the odd occasion when I do get the player (1 in 20 or so) it then displays an error saying the program could not be shown.

I have the same issue on Windows 7 and 2 different windows XP machines using the latest version of rtmpdump.

Anyone any ideas of how to fix or work around this problem

TIA

Hi all!:o

I'm having trouble downloading videos from www.tv4play.se

First problem - getting the video to play load/play in rtmpexplorer.
The video will not load in rtmpexplorer while rtmpsrv is running, but will if I quit rtmpsrv and refresh the page.

Second, of course - getting it to connect and download...

Here's the URL of one of the videos I'm trying to download if anyone can help?
http://www.tv4play.se/nyheter_och_de... eoid=2097284

I have no idea about these things, honestly... I was using StreamTransport (version 2041) with no problems before it suddenly starting freezing and crashing within the last few weeks, so now I have to try to find another option.

I ran the program as Admin and these are the messages I get:confused:

rtmpsuck
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/189/rtmpsuck.png/

rtmpsrv
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/716/rtmpsrv.png/

Thank you for any help!

I'm confused as to how to use rtmpdump. Could you possibly give me a tutorial (in layman's terms) on how to use download the video? As I said before, I have never used it before and I am no computer expert, obviously :p

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

I'm using rtmpexplorer to grab from ITV Player. rtmpsrv doesn't work (it only works for the ads as they're not encrypted) but rtmpsuck does.

How do I copy/save to file the output of rtmpsuck? So that I can manually form the commmand for rtmpdump.

Bahman 02-14-2012 09:20 AM

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

Usually, The commands that rtmpsuck gets, will save in created command.bat in same folder!! open command.bat, you will see the command that used in rtmpsuck!!

riddler 02-14-2012 09:41 AM

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

That's for rtmpsrv, but not for rtmpsuck.

I want to copy this to clipboard and then manually form the rtmpdump command as rtmpsrv doesn't work.

Bahman 02-14-2012 01:36 PM

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

That's for rtmpsuck too. ;)

Blimey, As I see in the pic, you still didn't get "Play path" with rtmpsuck!! You can't make a command for rtmpdump without that!! Read this Instruction!!

Anyway, right click on CLI (black window), then click on "Select All" or "Mark", and press enter!! Take a look on this! ;)

riddler 02-14-2012 02:20 PM

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

I cannot copy the command line output as it's still running. Using Ctrl+C to cancel closes the window with it. There is no command.bat created. Was going to use KSV's command with the rtmpsuck results as the parameters. Rtmpsrv doesn't work. It would only get the two ads before the programme but not the programme itself.

Perhaps you could try? I use ExpatShield free VPN and the channel URL is in the screenshot I posted.

riddler 02-15-2012 02:41 AM

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

Using rtmpsrv I can only get the 'loading' (animated rings) video.

This is the error.

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

riddler
1) You must use rtmpsrv, to obtain the parameters
2) replace the parameter "-y"
3) run command.bat

riddler 02-15-2012 11:23 AM

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

The TV programme does stream in rtmpexplorer's window. Despite that,

The only video that I can get is the ITV Player 'loading' video, not the actual programme itself. When I run rtmpsrv after the loading video, and after the ads, the programme stream is not detected and thus there is no output and no Command.bat created.

The -y parameter is the path to the mp4 file, right? In the debug log, you can see it hasn't detected the file name before the connection is closed.

That's a warning and is OK!!

Your Video script:
Code:

rtmpdump -r "rtmpe://cp72511.edgefcs.net:1935/ondemand" -a "ondemand?auth=eaEd1bLcPdoawbJczdcaVd9d8dpbpblccbzczd4b0cWbWdwd0beaZaAascnadaLcZcj-bpo.7r-eS-7yt3DDrjxsBr&aifp=v002&slist=production/" -f "WIN 11,2,202,197" -W "http://www.itv.com/mediaplayer/ITVMediaPlayer.swf" -p "http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=307061" -y "mp4:production/priority/CATCHUP/347aefa3/9952/46fe/b5ae/5dd68441d92e/1-9360-0541-001_LORRAINE-(2012)_TX140212_ITV800_16X9.mp4?sessionId=4E453C15-9F4D-E40D-A648-02DF4EC01E4C" -o 1-9360-0541-001_LORRAINE-(2012)_TX140212_ITV1200_16X9.flv
Get a new auth for your self and then replace in this script!! I'm not sure if a new "sessionId" is needed or not!!

Off:
KSV, I still get connection reject for my PC. What should I do? I really need ITV in the future!!

use this ip address (63.150.131.76) instead of server name (cp72511.edgefcs.net). probably cdn server for your area is misconfigured or blocking your ip range.

@riddler

your problem is due to restrictive vpn. it blocks connection to port 1935. when connection fails on that port flash player tries on port 80 and 443 so video starts playing in RtmpExplorer. if you read the short guide carefully it specifically says to close the rtmpsrv and when channel logo video starts playing quickly start rtmpsrv again so it only detects the actual video url.

AccessManager.Reject errors normally occurs when your authentication token is expired or invalid. it's only valid for about 3 minutes. grab the fresh one and try again.

It takes less than a min to input proxy address & replacing that IP. Same result!! :(

then most probably they have banned your ip range because same method (RtmpExplorer) and also latest get-flash-videos works fine for me and others.

But I can watch it online on their website!! if they have banned my IP range, why the stream starts playing on my browser??

How is get flash videos? I wanna try it!!

because site also tries port 80 and 443. when you are using proxy all traffic on those ports is redirected through proxy while rtmp port (1935) is not redirected.

get-flash-videos is a perl script which supports multiple sites. if you are on windows you can install ActivePerl to use the script.

So, if I change the port number to 80 or 443, does make any sense?

and Thanks for the help!!

@riddler

your problem is due to restrictive vpn. it blocks connection to port 1935. when connection fails on that port flash player tries on port 80 and 443 so video starts playing in RtmpExplorer. if you read the short guide carefully it specifically says to close the rtmpsrv and when channel logo video starts playing quickly start rtmpsrv again so it only detects the actual video url.

Thank you Bahman for the playpath! I got rtmpdump downloading the programme now. It's currently 2% downloaded hopefully the full programme will download. What VPN do you use? Maybe you can use your VPN for the rtmpsrv part to detect the URL, and then ExpatShield for downloading with rtmpdump.

KSV, do I change the listen port of rtmpsrv to 80?

Now the only issue I have is that I can't get the URL of the video file. Starting rtmpsrv after the ITV landscape scene video starts playing only detects the 'loading' video, whereas starting it after the adverts have played doesn't detect anything. I was only able to get the new authkey from my debug of rtmpsuck where I have up to tcurl not no playpath.

I use a HTTPS proxy that is called Your Freedom (Also support Socks 4 & 5)!! you can't live here without that!:D

KSV, after running get-flash-video in ActivePerl, I have no idea what to do!! :D Should I do sth with IE?

riddler 02-17-2012 04:47 AM

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

I've successfully downloaded from ITV Player using the URL you posted.

Oh I used to use YourFreedom but it's limited to something like 1 hour. Thanks for the tip, I shall use it just to get the play path, then go back to ExpatShield to get the new authkey using the halfway-terminating rtmpsuck and download using rtmpdump.

Does get-flash-videos work for ITV Player? I could get up to 'using method ITV Player' before closing the connection. Here are the directions for Command Prompt:
change directory to the bin folder of ActivePerl
perl {path to get_flash_videos} {url}

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

Thank you, riddler!! but:
Code:

C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe C:\get_flash_videos-1.24
http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=307061
Downloading http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=307061
Using method 'itv' for http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=307061
Error: Unable to find <Video> in XML at C:\get_flash_videos-1.24 line 2743.

Couldn't extract Flash movie URL. This site may need specific support adding,
or fixing.

Please confirm the site is using Flash video and if you have Flash available
check that the URL really works(!).

Check for updates by running: C:\get_flash_videos-1.24 --update

If the latest version does not support this please open a bug (or
contribute a patch!) at http://code.google.com/p/get-flash-videos/
make sure you include the output with --debug enabled.
Couldn't download any videos.

Any idea?

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

if you are outside of UK then you need to use vpn to download it. if you have installed ActivePerl properly then you can launch the script from anywhere. your get-flash-videos version is very old and also rtmpdumup must be in same folder.

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

I have the same problem myself. Don't know whether the problem is on our side as we're behind proxies, or that get_flash_video's code is outdated.

Need help with iPlayer this time. get_iplayer works perfectly but I want to get trailers and clips from the shows' site that are not in the TV listings. I use rtmpexplorer for this. I can get the URL in Command.bat, but when I run the rtmpdump script in Command.bat (making sure that it's only the last line), I get this:

Connecting ...
ERROR: RTMP_Connect0, failed to connect socket. 10060 (Unknown error)

I can't find newer than 1.24!! Where is new version of it?

Thanks for the tips!!

if you are unable to compile yourself i can post latest git version.

You should not use the vpn for download
but only to obtain parameters for rtmpdump.

Re: RTMPexplorer - rtmpsrv/rtmpsuck/rtmpdump GUI for Windows

you are in wrong directory. go to C:\rtmpdump-2.4 and use cmd

Code:

perl get-flash-videos.pm http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=307061
