There is dedicated software for this job. :cool:
It is get_iplayer.

Use a command like this:-

(I think that the tutorial in this thread is intended for people running Windows 98 or similar)

I've tried it out first under windows 7 and then under linux but i'm getting the same message in both: http://pastebin.com/rdTPXhes

It's strange since from your results you were able to do it without troubles.

What could be the problem?

Hi
If you're not located in UK, the high-bitrate versions aren't available.
So try to download the low-bitrate version.

I tried that but didn't work. However I've run it with the --debug option and I was missing flvstreamer and rtmpdump. I've installed them and it worked!

Only RTMPDump is needed, it replaces Flvstreamer.:cool:

Can I download HD using RTPDump? I do get the episodes as mp4 but it's not HD.

It would be helpful if you could specify -

a. The operating system you are running, e.g. WinXP, Win Vista, Windows 7, Linux, Win98, Mac.

b. The version of RTMPDUMP you are using.

c. The url address of the BBC tv show you are trying to download.

In general, upgrading to the latest version of rtmpdump.exe (or the latest version your operating system can run) will give you the best results.

You will want to bear in mind that only a limited range of BBC shows are streamed as HD. Make sure there actually is an HD stream for the tv show you are trying to download. For example, if the show fails to play as HD in your browser it's likely the BBC are not streaming it as HD.

The mediaSelector XML page for the show will specify what streams are available. See my posts earlier in this thread as to how to find that page for the tv show you are interested in.

I wonder if anyone could help me please?

I am trying to get the audio from a bbc stream, I've tried various different methods listed on this site and from all over the web and still having no luck.

The program I am is after is the following; http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0128151

If somebody could help me out I would be extremely grateful!
