i'm from Ukraine, so i use VK, and though i'm mostly against of torrents and copyright protected files, i find all VK's advantages, that are stated here, very useful.

considering that now, where there is a free iPhone app that makes using the network very simple, it also allows to listen your private playlist as well as playlists of all your friends, as if the music in on your Apple device!) it's great - infinite music library in your device (provided that you have an internet access)

so, yeah, that's how things are done here - you want it you get it, and as you understand, no bothering about copyright, accept a little warning from VK administration (that's what actually i don't like about our people)

what's the difference between vkontakte.ru and vk.com?
is it basically the same?

vkontakte.ru and vk.com are the same. vk.com is for meant to be used by the internatinal audience, but anybody can use both vk.com and vkontakte.ru with the same login/password.

Sorry, no invitation from me as well. There were so many spammers before introducing the invitation system, that I don't want to refer a another spammer. Find a friend who can trust you and you will get an invitation.

i registered at vkontakte.ru about 1.5 years ago. no invitation was needed!
nowadays invitations are needed? :confused:

As soon as invitations were introduced, I don't see any spam in vk.com anymore :cool: So it is bad for new users, but great for old ones.

well yeah...I'm not a spammer,I just wanted to be in touch again with some friends I made years ago, and I found them there...funny thing is that I cant PM them to say INVITE ME PLZ if im not registered...so I thing I'll give up. My ex email had them as contacts but I lost it so I cant send emails to them. Also VK looks so awesome...dammit

Do you use any other social networks? If you do and you're not a spammer, there should be few problems finding an invite.
