Usually you should not do any changes in config.yml, except checking destination directories.

As soon as you start the program you should open url in your browser http://localhost:9080 (make sure that port number matches the port number in config.yml, usually it is 9080).

I suppose when you open the page you will easily figure out what to do next.

ohhhh....i tried that now and its working. thank you so much for your help :D

I'm having trouble installing Horacio's version of mfc-node found here. https://github.com/horacio9a/mfc-node

I've installed Node.js and ffmpeg. But in the setup section i'm having trouble with
#4 "Install requirements by running npm install in the same directory as mfc.js is."

Problem is i don't see an 'mfc.js', just 'main.js'

Where can I find 'mfc.js'?

I'm running Linux Mint 18 xfce if that helps any.

BTW i'm brand new to pretty much all of this. Node.js, mfc-node, mfc-auto, etc. Even if I do get it all installed and working I'm not even sure how to start up the program to record.

It’s the same file, different name. The correct instruction will be to run ‘npm install’ command in the same directory with package.json file.

Thank you. I did that and it brought up this.

npm notice created a lockfile as package-lock.json. You should commit this file.
added 36 packages in 7.893s

Not sure if I did it wrong or not. I opened the terminal by right clicking inside the mfc-node-2 folder I unpacked and clicked "Open in terminal", then typed npm install and got that message.

Having a bit of a problem with Horacio's mfc-node-2

I was reading a few pages back on this thread and saw the Forever app mentioned, so I installed it using:
Installation
$ [sudo] npm install forever -g

Usage
forever start app.js

I ran it in the right directory and it threw up warnings about minUptime not set, --spinTime not set, etc.
So i decided to figure out that stuff later and start back up mfc-node the usual way: node main.js.

But upon doing so I now get this message:

Error: listen EADDRINUSE :::9080
at Object._errnoException (util.js:1021:11)
at _exceptionWithHostPort (util.js:1043:20)
at Server.setupListenHandle [as _listen2] (net.js:1344:14)
at listenInCluster (net.js:1385:12)

at Function.Module.runMain (module.js:665:10)
at startup (bootstrap_node.js:187:16)
at bootstrap_node.js:608:3

Any idea what the problem could be?

EDIT TO ADD: Also sometimes I get this message:

module.js:529
throw err;
^

Error: Cannot find module 'bluebird'
