Re: Any good downloaders for Hulu+?

seems like the hulu guys are watching this forum...any new way of downloading will be quickly made useless.....

I don't even know why these hulu admins are so anal about this...you'd probably get like a few dozen ppl who will learn how to do this from the forums, why spend the time chagning things around every few hours ...

if anyone know how to download from them, at this point, please let me know by PM, any help is appreciated.....
there's this series i'm dying to get..and i just got myself a plus account , not expecting things would be so difficult..

thanks in advance

Although I don't currently use getflv, I remember that issue with it from almost its very inception.

However, if you saved the original downloaded flv file, it can be fixed to remove the brief pause/sync issue at the start of the video. I can't find my notes about it, but I remember that I did it by remuxing with mencoder - because I couldn't get a fix to work with other tools.

I'll try downloading a file with getflv to see if I can reconstruct the mencoder parameters.

Thanks Blimey, I did more research based upon your post and you are right - there is a fix for the beginning stutter playback of the finished file - I will share in a PM for those interested:)

I wasn't even aware that there was such a thing as "3200BR" or what that is. Ever since I got GetFLV, I always downloaded the 1500K one. Is 3200BR significantly better?

Well that would explain why I never encountered 3200. I thought the Hulu Desktop was something that Hulu discontinued a long, long time ago and never used it.

The fact that I had to stumble across this method to get 720p 3200br stream means that these forums are useless.

I think it's driven by fear. People are afraid that if they reveal too much, their method will stop working, so they'd rather keep it to themselves and continue downloading rather than helping others. I have no doubt that Hulu watches this forum. It also doesn't help that links aren't anonymized when we click on them, so every streaming site knows when traffic from here is coming their way.

Is it an easy fix? I'm not a very tech-savvy person at all, but I'd love to try fixing my videos if it's easy to do.

I actually noticed that not all of my GetFLV downloads have the stutter at the beginning. I have no idea why some do and some don't. Surprising!

the 1500k and 3200k are both 720p, i took a still capture of both, i don't see a difference...might make difference on some complex scenes...

Did you get to see the 3200K stream using a Hulu+ app? When I use the normal Hulu website, the only choice for HD video quality is "HD" and selecting it brings up the 1500K stream.

it depends on what you're downloading..
some only has 1500k , some has many bitrates (incl. 3200k)..the older series are like 1000k 680x480
yes, it saw 3200k streams, but I usually just go with the 1500/2000k stream

Interesting. I checked out some random Hulu+ exclusives and I noticed that there were even some new shows had no HD at all. The best was 1000K. I really expected there to be more consistency among Hulu+ videos.
