Is it possible to install rtmpdump on a webserver?

I'm trying to watch videos from hxxp://www.thehorseshow.com/rfd_schedule.aspx, however my connection is too slow. No matter what I try, the resulting video always has MANY dropped frames, approx 75% dropped. It seem to be the streaming server that drop the frames as soon as it detect a slow connection.

I have a website and I'm now wondering would it be posible to install rtmpdump on the server, capture the stream to the server and then download the captured file to my PC.

It is a linux server with cpanel. I have access to cgibin and also etc and bin folders. I might be able to get shell access too. There is a shell icon in cpanel, but I could not get it working yet, maybe if I contact support.

I'm desperatly trying to get hold of these videos. I've even contacted Rick, the host of the show and also asked on several forums if someone with a fast connection would be willing to capture the stream and then forward the file to me. But with no luck.

Any suggestions welcome, PLEASE.

Just ask you web-hosting provider whether it allows to use custom applications or not.

Option #2 is to hack their server, install it yourself, and enjoy the benefits before you're found and arrested...

Ha, ha, ha!! That's a great idea. Any thoughts on where I can do a quick hacking course online?

No, seriously, I've contacted my host and even though I'm a real cheap-skate client, they came up with a solution for me. I'm currently got a free trial VPS server and downloading is working just fine. However, getting the server on a permanent basis is going to cost me a lot more than what it is worth. I'm hoping to negotiate a better deal with them, since I only really need the VPS once a week for about 2 hours or so.

Thanks for the help. Been looking for a solution for like 3 or 4 months now.
