Optimize parameters for high-speed cable/fibre

I suspect that I am having more problems with rtmpdump errors with a 100Mbps fibre (fiber) connection than with a much slower ADSL connection.

I suspect there is a problem with the higher speed connection, because I can switch between these connections quickly, with separate Ethernet cables to each router device. After a problem with downloading a show with the fibre connection, and having deleted download files, I can get a full download with the ADSL connection.

But the server appears to limit download speeds (my effective downloads for each router are similar, at only 1200kbps).

Is this possible? Are there parameters that I should use to get better download experience with the "faster connection"?

There is a variety of errors from rtmpdump - RTMP_ReadPacket, HandleInvoke, Sanity failed, etc - all of which I have seen over the years on an ADSL-speed connection.
