My recommended media playersI use Windows Media Player 11 for most of media files the ones it can handle like .mp3, .midi, .avi, .asf, .wma, .wmv, .mpeg, .mka, .mkv. .ogg, .ogm, etc. I use the latest RealPlayer for realplayer files. I use the latest Quicktime for quicktime files. I use the latest Winamp for .nsa, .nsv files. My recommended codec pack is the latest version of Matroska Pack and Ogg Direct Show Filters 0.9.9.6. For DVD playing I now use Cyberlink PowerDVD 6. I use this because it came with my DVD player. I always recommend using the one that came with your computer or with your DVD player.

Re: My recommended media playersI use Media Player Classic (included into the K-Lite Mega Codec pack) to play video files like avi, .asf, .wma, .wmv, .mpeg, .mka, .mkv.
I also use Real Alternative and QuickTime Alternative from K-Lite Mega Codec pack to play Real Video/Real Audio and QuickTime with Media Player Classic. And I use PowerDVD when playing DVD videos. And I use Winamp 5 or Foobar to play audio files. p.s. From the software above, only PowerDVD is commercial, but I got it with some device. |

Re: My recommended media playersActually now because of matroska pack having problems with my nero 6 software I use the official beta of ffdshow tryouts which is great, switched to ogg direct show filters 0.9.9.5 because other had trouble playing .ogg files but 0.9.9.5 has no problems at all that I can see and I also need the xvid codec package because of issues with nero 6 and I enable xvid in ffdshow tryouts codec area, also use vp3, vp4, vp6, vp7 codecs as well.
