The meteors flare up in brillian

The meteors flare up in brilliant displays when they streak through Earth's atmosphere at about 65 kilometers per second (that's nearly 150,000 mph), according to NASA astronomer Mitzi Adams. Science editor Alan Boyle's blog: Get a good look at the terrain surrounding NASA's Curiosity rover in a place that's known as Mars' "Promised Land."
