You need a US debit card or credit card to make a purchase on Gilt. No other payment methods accepted:

And Gilt can ship to a US address only. You can get a virtual address in the US using companies like Shipito.

So if you get a virtual address on Shipito, then just register on Gilt using the following invitation link https://www.gilt.com/invite/bargain . Use your virtual address when registering. Then when making a purchase just use your virtual address for billing and shipping. It works for many debit and credit cards, although there is no 100% guarantee.

So many people are crazy about Gilt. I don't even understand why. I prefer other flash sale sites.

Re: Making purchases on Gilt Groupe (www.gilt.com) from outside the U.S.

International shipping on Gilt seems to be cheap. There are several problems however:
1. Some items can't be shipped outside the US.
2. Sometimes shipping is more than $19.95. I don't really know how they calculate their shipping rate. May be they quote Fifty One showing the weight and size of the items.

Another problem is that Fifty One uses DHL Express only. Although they usually deliver much faster than USPS, it is not a state postal service. This causes problems like 200 EUR limit for avoiding customs fees and duties when shipping to Russia. The same applies to many other countries where the usage of state postal services is benevolent.

Many american shops use FiftyOne for international shipping. This is a real problem for me, because I reside in Russia.

The only alternative I have found for Gilt is Myhabit. It uses SPSR Express and UPS for shipping to Russia. Shipping can be more or less expensive than when using Gilt. But Myhabit is much better than Gilt from many prospectives.
