M3U8 Download from Playstation Vue

Hello,
I am trying to download DVR and On-Demand programs that I have access to through my Playstation Vue account.

Here is an example of a DVR program:

Note that you will not be able to watch any of the videos here unless you also have a PlayStation Vue subscription (or free trial), which is only available in the US. They actually restrict your access to your home network only; but the files for most national TV programs I imagine would be the same.

I've tried both youtube-dl and ffmepg on its own. And it gives the following error:

ERROR: ffmpeg exited with code 1

I've even manually downloaded all the TS files and key files and arranged them in folders like the m3u8 spells out. FFmpeg still fails locally, something to do with the key file.

Atresdownloader latest version 18.1 seems to download the whole file, but then starts to mux the segments and then mysteriously deletes everything and I get a partial unplayable file.

Do you guys have any suggestion to download this video and any of them from Vue which I assume have a similar URL format?

I've tried to sniff my phone's traffic when using the Vue app but it refuses to function if it detects a tool is sniffing the traffic.

I own both an NVIDIA Shield Android TV box and the new Amazon Fire TV box. Maybe there is a way to sniff traffic from them?

Never mind found solution.

First use Firefox as your browser (I don't know if there's a suitable plugin in any other one.)

Then install the following plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-Us/fir...ream-detector/
In the settings for the addon once installed, make sure that when you click on the popup it is set to give you the full FFMPEG command.

Then open another browser, i.e. Google Chrome. Then go to the page on PlayStation Vue for the show you want. Then open the Developer Tools by right-clicking and choosing Inspect Element. Go to the network tab. Then play your desired episode. Search for any link that says something like 4500 m3u8. This will be the HD 720p stream.
Copy the URL and go the following website:
http://osmfhls.kutu.ru/

Paste the URL in and choose whether its a live stream or VOD depending on if you were watching a channel live or a DVR/on-demand recording in Vue.
Finally, click the blue play button.
You should notice a pop-up in the corner from the HLS detector addon. Click on it to copy the URL that is already for ffmpeg and includes the cookie, user agent, and other data for authentication.

Then use ffmpeg in the command prompt and paste the command. It should start downloading without issues.

Maybe this will work for other sites that youtube-dl and streamlink can't handle on their own.
