How to Import Panasonic TM700 video files to FCP X (Final Cut Pro X)?

My father bought me FCP X last night as a perfect video-edit-software is necessary for my new Panasonic TM700. But when I tried to use it, I found that most of my videos couldn’t be imported to edit. When searching on the net, I know it’s a format problem. As too many confounding information, I’m still puzzled with this problem. Anyone help?

Panasonic TM700 records 1080i and 1080P 50/60 fps. FCP X can only accept 1080i and it can not import 1080 50/60p files. You must use a convert tool to change 50/60 fps MTS to MOV with pro res.

I use *** to comlete the conversion from MTS to pro res. It works like a charm.

Actually even though 1080i videos, I still to convert them to pro res as I save all my video MTS only off the camcorder to the hard drive of my iMac. FCP X will recognize the BDMV whole structure to import MTS files. I do not like putting all messy folders on my mac. So I prefer to convertion. It is my way.

Good luck.

I think the answer from upstair is correct.Limimted format videos could be edited by FCP X,even having a great camcoder, you still need a convert software to transfer the format.

Banned all of the above spammers. The first one and the last one posted from IP 180.107.XXX.XX first and then both posted from IP 69.64.65.37.

Aunsoft posts spam in the forums and blogs, and this fact describes their software perfectly.

Hey Aunsoft, don't you have enough reviews about your products in the following thread?

Simple editing can be done with HD Writer AE 2.1 and newer. It comes with Panasonic TM700 (free for its owners).

For advanced editing you may use Adobe Premiere 4 and newer, Sony Vegas 9.0 Pro and newer.

All conversions are mainly suggested by spammers. It is not a good idea to convert and loose quality. It is better to either get another camera or other software.
