how To Convert MKV/Matroska Video To AVI


1. Run MKV to AVI Converter after you have installed the software and all codecs properly.

2. Click "Open Video" button from the main interface, and navigate through your harddrive or directory to select a Matroska Video that you wish convert. (Note: for unregistered users, you need click "Try" botton to access the program's main interface).

3. After you have selected the Matroska video, please click "Options" button, Then click "Browse" button from the "output options" interface to select a directory that you wish to store in your pc. Also you can set the output file name, resolution, frame rate, resize mode, audio compressor, video compressor. (note: for some audio video compressor may not work properly, for more information, please read the "Help" document).

4. Click "Convert" button to start the conversion process. (note: To convert part of your Matroska Video to avi, your can use below two ways to select the segment that you want to convert: (a) please directly lug the slide bar, (b) click the "Play" button to preview your mkv video, Fill in "Start Time" and "End Time".)

Freeware VirtualDubMod can open .mkv files directly to edit or convert them. It supports .mkv to .avi conversion with or without audio/video re-encoding.

You may also open .mkv files using free AviSynth script (.avs). After opening .avs script with freeware VirtualDub, you may edit video and convert it to .avi.

AVS Video Tools now also supports .MKV format. Highly recommend this product.
