Re: How to connect PC/computer/laptop to TVSetting up your TV:
Select the input that your computer is connected to the remote control of your TV. This input can be called something like HDMI, AV1, AV2, ... If you get a distorted picture, you can try to go to the TV settings and change the video resolution (HDTVs have several resolution settings, but most older TVs usually don't have any settings like that at all). Setting up your computer/laptop: You need to set up your graphics card to send the signal to the required port. If you get a distorted picture, you can try to change the resolution on your laptop/computer. You can also try to change the color scheme to 24-bit if it is set to 32-bit. Aspect ratio might also need to be changed. The screen aspect ratio is a monitor's proportion of width top height. Prior to 2003, most computer monitors had a screen ratio of 4:3, the same as standard TVs. Right now ratios of 16:10 are quite common on laptops. HDTV and some laptops have a ratio of 16:9. Movies and still photography have different ratios. A common example of a screen-ratio problem is when wide-screen video is shown on a standard screen: The result is undesirable letter-boxing with black bars filling the screen on the top and bottom. If you use a laptop, you may need to press FN+F8 (the CRT/LCD) key on your keyboard to have the signal sent to the TV out of your laptop. Changed the configuration of your screens, i.e. extend desktop, clone desktop etc… |

Re: How to connect PC/computer/laptop to TVIf you have an S-Video connector on your laptop/computer and SCART on your TV, you can use SCART-RCA adapter and:
1. an S-Video to RCA video adapter. One end of such an adapter has S-Video, the other end has a yellow male RCA jack. 2. an audio "Y" cable (3.5mm Mini-Stereo Male to Two RCA Male Speaker Cable). One end of such a cable has a microphone (headphone) jack and the other end is two male RCA jacks: white and red. Connect RCA jacks to SCART-RCA adapter so that colors match. TV's with a single digital port labeled HDMI/DVI require only one cable when the source is another HDMI component. But when the source is a DVI laptop, you need a DVI-to-HDMI cable for the video and a 3.5mm Mini-Stereo Male to Two RCA Male Speaker Cable. |

Just connect VGA of your laptop with VGA of your HDTV using a regular VGA cable used to connect computers with monitors. Quote:
