can't download, Video redirected

The company Castup had recently implemented a new feature which detects whether or not a given video is embedded within its designated domain. If this is not the case, the stream is redirected to a static wmv saying the video is not intended to be viewed this way.

A sample webpage which embeds such a video is as follows:
http://news.nana10.co.il/Article/?Ar...702986&sid=126

The video can be watched in the page, but not recorded using WMRecorder.
Is that a known problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks,
Itamar

Re: can't download, Video redirected

Hi Itmar

I was only able to record that page with WM Capture, a Screen Capture program, I had no luck with WM Recorder, unfortunately.

Can somebody else test this and let us know if you get the same results?

Thanks

Re: can't download, Video redirected

Unfortunately Screen Capture is unfit for the task, as my internet connection is abysmally slow, which is the main reason I'm using WMRecorder. Watching something buffer for 8 hours is not fun.

Have you tried to use WM Recorder 14 in the PRO mode? I don't have any problem downloading this Windows Media streams in the ADA mode (actually I tried to download the first minute only, but there should be no problem to record longer than that).

Re: can't download, Video redirected

I've tried ADA, and didn't succeed, will try PRO later, as currently my internet is so slow I have difficulties loading the page... It would hopefully be better tomorrow.

Just a random question, are you sure you downloaded the actual video? Before it starts there is another stream which is a short advertisement, which is not redirected. The stream starting after it is the one I'm trying to capture.

Anyway, thanks for the help, I shall return with results hopefully soon!

I'm not sure, since I don't know the language . I just downloaded 4 minutes and this seems to be too much for an ad.

You my dear sir (or madam. I find it hard to tell), are awesome.
Switching to Pro mode solved the issue!

Would you be able to explain using really small words what's the difference between the two modes are?

In the PRO mode WM Recorder captures packets from your Windows Media Player while you play Windows Media streams, so content providers couldn't possibly notice you recording. This is a real time recording mode. It is recommended to use it when the ADA mode doesn't work.
