How can I get Netflix to stream movies instantly on my Mac?I have a Mac that meets the system requirements. I have enough memory. I have the compatible browser software...and yet, if I hit "Play" on a streaming Netflix movie, I get a box saying that they don't support my operating system (Mac 10.5.8), and that I need Mac v. 10.4.8 or later -- which, obviously, I have. Naturally, there's no way to reach customer support .
Does anyone have a solution? My local Blockbuster has closed and itunes has very limited selections, as does On Demand. How can a person watch a movie without waiting for a Netflix delivery by mail? |

Re: How can I get Netflix to stream movies instantly on my Mac?After you install Microsoft's Silverlight plug-in, you can stream movies right in your browser on your Mac.
In-browser streaming might not be the best idea. You can install Boxee on your Mac, and give it access to your Netflix account. You can then peruse your Netflix queue, search for titles, and browse newly available movies. You can use your Apple Remote to control the application completely. You never have to get up from your couch to change the movie. This makes it much more enjoyable for family viewing. Great choice for a ten-foot interface. Alternatively you can get Roku HD-XR Player and watch Netflix movies on your TV with it. |
