I want to stream capture these (http://www.thepoliticalcesspool.org/archive-AB.php) radio show archives. When you download the file you get a file with this file in it.

i bought HiDownload (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/HiDownload-download-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-Flash-FLV-Shoutcast-MP3-audio-streaming-and-save-to-hd.htm) Platinum. it has an URL Sniffer and catches the stream, and downloads it automatically.

It works for your webpage but it is VERY slow:

[Stream Recorder]

For downloading Windows Media streams I recommend to use WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) in the ADA mode, freeware GetASFStream (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetAsfStream-freeware-Windows-Media-stream-ripper.htm) or SDPReceiver (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-windows-media.htm#SDPReceiver).

For capturing Windows Media streams from your local Windows Media Player I recommend to use WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) in the PRO mode, or freeware WebVideoCap (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WebVideoCap-Freeware-stream-capture-software-for-HTTP-flash-RTSP-MMS-Windows-Media-streams.htm).

i dont recommend HiDownload (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/HiDownload-download-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-Flash-FLV-Shoutcast-MP3-audio-streaming-and-save-to-hd.htm), in general. Nor do i recommend NetTransport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/NetXFer-Saving-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-streaming-to-hd.htm), in general. Both products are buggy.

Since i bought HiDownload (to support the Chi*ese coding community), i am glad to see it work at the few instances when it works.

HiDownload doesn't work for most streams i am personally interested in, that's true. :(
