Fellow Forum Members,

I want to archive the videos available on www_ForexTv_com. However, the problem I am encountering is that they have the URL for most of their videos hidden behind some Java code. Therefore, your average FLV online downloader app does not seem to work.

I have tried the following apps with no success:

URL Helper (http://all-streaming-media.com/find-stream-URL/URL-Helper.htm) - this app is suppose to unhide the hidden URL but I have had no luck.

HiDownload (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/HiDownload-download-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-Flash-FLV-Shoutcast-MP3-audio-streaming-and-save-to-hd.htm) - no success with this app.

FLV Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/FLV-Recorder-flash-video-stream-recording-software.htm) - no success with this app. It recommends I use Hidownload and URLHELPER.

URL Sniffer - no success.

Camatasia Video Recorder - Interesting result. It managed to record the video as it played on my monitor online, but the filesize turned out to be close to 2 gigabytes. This video should not exceed 40 MB, so I don't understand why Camatasia is generating such a big file.

Any help that any video stream expert can provide will be greatly appreciated. I am really stumped here. I want to be able to download these videos in their orginal FLV file format so that I can refer to them later on because ForexTV_com pulls these videos down after a weeks time and once they are gone they are gone forever.

Try Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) or any other RTMP Flash stream recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-Adobe-Flash-FLV-videos.htm).

Camtasia is a Screen Capture (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/) type program. You're going to get a bigger file size.

Forex TV offers RTMP .FLV video streams. The above mentioned Streaming Star products are not very good downloading such streams or finding RTMP URLs. Bit Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Bit-Recorder-Capture-RTMP-HTTP-audio-video-streams-from-Flash-player.htm) from Streaming Star is slightly better, but I recommend you to try Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) and Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm).

URL Sniffer - no success.
Did you mean URL Snooper (http://all-streaming-media.com/find-stream-URL/Project-URL-Snooper-Find-the-actual-stream-URL-Free-download.htm)? The latter program is not good at finding RTMP stream URLs. Try Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) or NetXFer (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/NetXFer-Saving-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-streaming-to-hd.htm).

Did you mean Camtasia Screen Recorder?
Camtasia as a screen video capture program (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/) records anything that you can see on your screen. It doesn't download/capture/rip stream. To get smaller files you may use other audio/video codecs and smaller video resolution.
