I don't really want to registed on this web-site. Please post what kind error you exactly you see when using Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm).

And you should also try Bit Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Bit-Recorder-Capture-RTMP-HTTP-audio-video-streams-from-Flash-player.htm) and Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm)

I have the same problem. There seems to be no way to catch Dudevu streams. I have tried (almost?) all possible Firefox extensions dedicated to video download from streaming sites (like Flash Video Resources Downloader, Media Stealer, mediaplayerconnectivity, NetVideoHunter, Ant etc. pp.). They are all (but one) build to show automatically, when they found something to download on any site you go to. And I am able to download from ALL other video sites I visit. But on Dudevu the extensions do not react in any way (Flash Video Res. Downloader says: "Unrecognized Site Input: Could not retrieve .flv file.").

I also tried VLC Player but it didn't work. (But I'm not sure I used it correctly.) Other Windows applications I found (I mean local software, no web or in-browser application, extension etc.) all cost money, so I could not try them.

Earlier Dudevu DIDN'T use Adobe's Players, it used some other Flash player. I thought this was the reason most usual tools didn't work. But lately it has changed (due to stability issues) to Adobe, but there is still no way to get the vids.

The embed tag in the HTML code of the video pages is as follows (example):
<embed width="550" height="450" flashvars="javascriptid=mpl" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" name="mpl" id="mpl" style="" src="http://www.dudevu.com/nvplayer.swf?config=http://www.dudevu.com/nuevo/config.php?key=fdd4ed2836bdb521bea7" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"/>

This code is written dynamically by javascript AFTER the page is loaded. For this purpose the site uses a public script with the name "SWFObject v1.5: Flash Player detection and embed". It can be found at http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/

I also tried to paste the address in the "src" attrib above directly into the adress bar of Firefox. The video shows and there is no problem within the browser. But the download extensions of FF still don't react. If you paste in the above example only the adress "http://www.dudevu.com/nvplayer.swf?key=fdd4ed2836bdb521bea7" into the adress bar, you'll get the error message: "We're sorry, Product not registered... NuevoLab.com". Then, if you paste only "http://www.dudevu.com/nuevo/config.php?key=fdd4ed2836bdb521bea7", you'll get an XML file in the display with some entry "<regkey>ZHVkZXZ1LmNvbQ</regkey>".

I don't know, if that gives someone the clue without registering at "this" site. But maybe there is also someone who is not afraid to be considered gay by registering on this site and he'll take a closer look to the problem.;) And, of course, you can unregister later, if you're not interested in "that" content.:)

I have something additionally: I just noted, that I was able to download a demo video from NuevoLab.com homepage (mentioned it above). Some extension of firefox recognized I did start the demo video there and catched it instantly. So there is, indeed, some possibility to catch the streams of the Nuevo Player. But I still don't know, how Dudevu manages to avoid video download.

Thank you for posting XML. There is no need to register because of that. I got the XML file

which obviously shows that RTMP protocol is used. I haven't seen any Firefox extensions that support RTMP protocol. VLC player (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-windows-media-and-real-video.htm#VLC) doesn't support RTMP either.

To record from this web-site you may use RTMP Flash stream recorders (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-Adobe-Flash-FLV-videos.htm)

I tried to play the following stream
http://www.dudevu.com/nvplayer.swf?config=http://www.dudevu.com/nuevo/econfig.php?key=fdd4ed2836bdb521bea7

and Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) 3.0.2 perfectly recorded it:
Downloading RTMP stream COMPLETE:
RTMP Application: rtmp://streaming.dudevu.com/streaming
Media Path: 14998
Audio Received: 680 kb.
Video Received: 6523 kb.
Saved to: Z:\_Downloading\_str\14998_79500A11.flv

Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) doesn't have any problems with this video stream either.

As for Bit Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Bit-Recorder-Capture-RTMP-HTTP-audio-video-streams-from-Flash-player.htm), I no longer recommend it.

Hey, sounds good! :)

I didn't know that the XML is the important thing. I just posted this and that I found. But I'm happy I found the right thing.

I have "Super" which supports "rtsp". Does this the job as well? But tell me, what URL you used as adress to play the video (I hope it was not too traumatizing ). Is it just the one you mentioned in the second <code> section of your last post? I'm wondering about the "http:" at the beginning. For, most other protocols have their own prefix like "rtsp:", "mms:", "ftp:" a.s.o.. Shouldn't it be something like "rtmp://..."?

Thanks for your help very much. At least, I will know what I have to look for when searching for (free) applications and extensions. If this will work you'll have made many men happy, in the comming future, I think.

Hello again!

Maybe I have found some software that will do the job. On the website of the Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) the first entry of the New Features list says: "Grab Pro - Download RTMP protocol video". Sounds perfect, doesn't it? And somewhat beneath you can read: "100% free and no registration required."

Have no time to test it, now. But I've downloaded it already and will notify ye about my experiences.

See ye!

Nope, RTSP is different from RTMP.

But tell me, what URL you used as address to play the video (I hope it was not too traumatizing ). Is it just the one you mentioned in the second <code> section of your last post?

Hitting the Play and Stop button doesn't traumatize too much :), but thank you.

I'm wondering about the "http:" at the beginning. For, most other protocols have their own prefix like "rtsp:", "mms:", "ftp:" a.s.o.. Shouldn't it be something like "rtmp://..."?
It really is something like rtmp:// . However when you have the URL, the application needs to "split" it into some parts, which is IMHO different from rtsp, mms, pnm, http,... I'm mentioning this because it is harder to find an rtmp URL.

You should try both Grab Pro and Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm). They are both free. I have more problems recording RTMP streams with these programs than with Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) and Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm), but it wouldn't hurt to try whether any of them is good enough for recording from dudevu ;)

I have installed the Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) now and it works great. :)

Orbit does not integrate into Firefox (however, into IE he does) like other extensions, but he monitors it and "grabs" the videos instantly when they are played. Then I can download them. So no need any longer to know some exact RTMP adress.

Although, it's interesting to know where I may find them and about the role of the XML files. Any piece of knowledge about streaming tech will help me in the future to get the videos I want.

Maybe I can uninstall all the media download extensions of Firefox, in the future, too. Thus FF will be light-weighter and faster.

So, thank you very much for your fast and very effective help! This Dudevu problem was annoying me a long time. I wasn't believing, I would find a solution for that anytime anywhere.

With lot of thanks!!! :D

There is no need to learn about XML files, because you can use RTMP Flash stream recorders (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-Adobe-Flash-FLV-videos.htm) that can record RTMP streams automatically or that can find RTMP URLs.

Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) with its Grab++ and NetTransport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/NetXFer-Saving-Windows-Media-Real-Audio-Video-QT-streaming-to-hd.htm) can find RTMP URLs for you.

Fred0420

Actually, I don't need a special reason to learn about XML, I'm always curious about technical stuff. So, I'm happy to know about that, whether or not I need it. :)

Oh, as I see, Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) is in your recorder list, too. I really didn't find it via this list, these days. I got the recommendation for it in another forum, which I found via Google. It had seemed to me, that there was only non-free software in your list, so I did not read it properly and down to the end.

I have now already downloaded a lot of files from Dudevu. Thus it seems Orbit Downloader will make me content. :)

I have Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) and Grabit ++ and I have no idea how to make it download stuff from Dudevu. I am way below the level of conversation on this post. So if anyone has time to do step by step instructions, or tell me where to find them, I'd be happy. I did try to read Grabit FAQ's & instructions, but a box came up and it asked me to select a file but the box was empty - there was nothing to select. Another place says to make sure the media is playing, refresh the page and it will be grabbed. No such luck, of course. THANKS

Besides Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) you can try to use Grab Pro that comes with it. You can also try freeware CooJah + Blader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Blader-freeware-RTMP-downloader.htm) and many commercial RTMP Flash stream recorders (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/record-streaming-video-Adobe-Flash-FLV-videos.htm).

Dear Stream Recorder:

Thanks for your reply - but I did mention in my post that Grab++ from Orbit (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm) didn't work for me. It says start the sniffer first. I have no idea what this means. I did do an internet search and got no help with that - all links simply referred me back to Orbit's instructions.

What happens when I try Grab++ (which I assume is same as Grab Pro because there is nothing else on my Orbit downloader and I just downloaded this a couple weeks ago so again I assume it is current) is the page opens to select and item to download, but there is nothing in the box to select. I tried refreshing the page, nothing. Fred wrote me a detailed reply of what he does, I tried typing www.dudevu.com in where he said and still I get no results.

I did look at CooJah & Blader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Blader-freeware-RTMP-downloader.htm), but that looks complicated too. I hesitate to purchase Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) if I can't get any of this other stuff to work, I'm thinking maybe that won't either. And as I look around Dudevu, most of the stuff is only a couple minutes - might not even be worth all this trouble?

Thanks

Grab++ (which I assume is same as Grab Pro because there is nothing else on my Orbit downloader and I just downloaded this a couple weeks ago so again I assume it is current)
grab ++ is a url finder only, while grab pro is a toolbar that allows to save videos.

I did look at CooJah & Blader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Blader-freeware-RTMP-downloader.htm), but that looks complicated too.
free products ma have a more complex interface

I hesitate to purchase Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) if I can't get any of this other stuff to work, I'm thinking maybe that won't either.
You should always try software before buying. Unlike Replay Media Catcher, many programs do not come with a money-back guarantee.

And as I look around Dudevu, most of the stuff is only a couple minutes - might not even be worth all this trouble?
May be.

The info, that you shall start sniffer first, doesn't say anyting. It's no error message, it's a general hint. It will always be shown, also if everything is running fine.

You wrote, you made sure, that media was playing BEFORE you tried anything. But it is neccessary, that the media playing STARTS AFTER Grab++ is loaded, since Grab++ will monitor the start of the play.

If this condition has already been met during your testings, the problem should be in the communication between Grab++ and the Browser. Have you already tried the following adjustments (http://www.orbitdownloader.com/grabhelp.htm)?

(1) Refresh the webpage again and make sure the video/music is playing.

Then see whether the Grab++ captures the video for you.

(2) Check the Grab++'s preferences to see whether the Grab++ is monitoring your browser

Click the 'Action' button on the Grab++ interface, then 'Preference...', then 'Monitoring' and check the browser you use, then click 'OK'.

Then Refresh the webpage again to see whether the Grab++ captures the video for you.

(3) check your IE setting:

Open the dialog tab 'Tools-->Internet Options --> General', then click the 'setting' button under 'Browsing History' to open the 'Temporary Internet Files and History Settings' dialog. Check the 'Every time I visit the webpage' radio, then click OK.

Then Refresh the webpage again to see whether the Grab++ capture the video for you.

I think, number 2 there might be the problem.

I have v2.816 of Orbit Downloader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Download-manager-Orbit-Downloader-Record-HTTP-MMS-RTSP-RTMP-media-streams-Freeware.htm)

Fred - it must be very different from what you have because the only thing about "browser monitoring" is under "tools" and one either checks the box or unchecks it. There are also boxes to check or uncheck for clipboard monitoring etc. Grab Pro is not on there anywhere. I looked at every choice and every box and "sub box"

???

Thanks again

Fred0420

I don't think, it's very different. I have just installed the new version. There is not any problem, as well as before. And there are the same menus as before. Also the change log on the creators web site says, that they only added support for "GetIt" for Firefox in the new version. (But I don't see any GetIt button on videos in Firefox, arrrg.)

In my Orbit, I can see the German versions of these options you described above. But have you tried the following (I'll try translating German->English, so the real words may slightly vary.): Go to "Tools" in the main menu and click "Grab++" there. If a dialogue comes up asking you to reload your website, click "Ok". Then the Grab++ window should show up. In this window there is a main-menu-like pane in the top area where it says: "Display: All Video ...". The rightmost item is a button with the text "Action". Click it and it should open a sub-menu. Click "Preferences..." in the sub-menu. A dialogue with three tabs appears. Click the third tab named "Monitoring". If the "Firefox" entry isn't checked there, check it and tell me, whether that helps anything. (Maybe you'll have to restart Firefox at first, and you should close Firefox before you make this adjustment.)

I would also like to clarify, if we're talking about the same things: I always talked about "Grab++", which isn't the same as "GrabPro". For GrabPro there may be much more problems to get it to run within Firefox. And at least you'd have to install an additional add-on into Firefox to activate GrabPro. And lastly, I have no "GrabIt", nor any "GrabIt++" anywhere in my Orbit.

One thing I found when I was installing the new version of Orbit: Have you closed all your browsers before you installed your Orbit? This would be really important! If you haven't, you should consider to reinstall Orbit (you don't have to uninstall it before).
