Does anyone know why I'm able to catch everything from the CBS website using the Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm) except for any of the full episodes.
Or if there's any other software that can do the same job as the RMC.

Unfortunately no recorder that i'm aware of is able to stream capture CBS. You CAN record it quite well, however, using a Screen Capture (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/) program, however.
I hope this helps. :-)

Yes, Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) 3.03 does work on CBS as of this moment. But it doesn't work on vh1 or 480p hulu. It will find the url for 480p hulu, but the download will fail.
But for CBS, it does work now. Maybe Jaksta will have an update for the other sites... or maybe adobe will bully them out of business too.

WM Capture (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/WM-Capture-screen-video-capture-software-that-records-with-high-quality.htm) is a nice program, but it doesn't download videos, it can only capture videos from screen.

Please read the user guide of WM Capture (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/WM-Capture-screen-video-capture-software-that-records-with-high-quality.htm). You can avoid many problems by learning how to use it. Then if you have a particular problem, please post about it providing more details.
does jaksta work the same way, or does it directly download the video? also, what other recorders download full cbs episodes?
Streaming video recorders (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/all-streaming-video-recording-software.htm) like Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) download video streams.
does anyone have a jaksta 3.03 registration code i can borrow just to test it out? thnx
I suggest you to contact their support instead and ask whether their software supports cbs.com video streams.

i know that cbs uses innertube, and that jaksta can record the full episodes from cbs. i don't want to go thru the trouble of buying Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm) and finding out that it doesn't work. i'm just checking if jaksta can do the trick
I HATE CBS's INNERTUBE, but i love the shows

Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) is a small freeware utility that allows you to copy and rename shared files (instead of getting one of the following error messages: "Cannot delete file: Access is denied", "There has been a sharing violation", "The source or destination file may be in use", "The file is in use by another program or user".
Here's how to capture .FLV HTTP stream with Unlocker:
Download and install Unlocker.
Unlocker assistant will launch automatically.
Navigate to a web-page and start playing your flash video stream
When the flash video finishes playing, Go to temp folder by the following: Start -> Run, typing %temp%.
Find a file with the name flaXXX.tmp, this is your flash video. Left click on it and use the Unlocker.
Use the Copy Action and save the file with .flv extension.
Now you can play the .flv video file
Can it do full episodes from CBS? Jaksta (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Jaksta-Streaming-Media%20Recorder-and-Converter.htm)
is great, but's it's kinda pricey.

Try to download RTMPE streams from CBS with freeware CBS Grabber (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GrabToolz-CBS-Grabber-freeware-CBS-video-downloader).
The paid version of the program called save2pc Pro + Extra Pack (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/save2pc-Rip-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm) supports more web-sites.

I can't believe CBS, I just finished downloading all the episodes of Star Trek and now they've uploaded remastered versions in HD. Some of them are in 1080P:eek: I'm trying to download them again with the high res, but they only download at 80-90k and the total file size is around 900mb. It's going to take forever at this pace.
Looks like I spoke too soon, I am able to get 166 kb/s it took 1.5 hours to download a 50 minute show. I have a little more bandwidth available I wish it would go faster.

Hi thomasguide, GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm) 8.8.61 is working very well, great program. They have done a wonderful and difficult job perfecting the program. I love the original StarTrek series. And we can now download the episodes in HD format.

I'm not able to get anything from CBS as of 11/15/09. The only thing GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm) is able to download are the commercials. I'm on version 8.8.7.1.
Looks like CBS is wise to the game.

Here you go: http://www.cbs.com/hd/video.php?cid=&pid=0k9qaibEQ8ctcCVZscUezevS9gp2HWJ4&play=true&offset=0&show=star_trek_remastered
It used to work fine, up until a few days ago. I can't download anything from the hd videos.
Is anyone able to get anything other than commercials. Using GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm) 8.8.7.2? Or does it not work for nonHD either?
ETA: Please ignore, it worked.
Has something changed? GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm) isn't working for me since 2 days for CBS?

I am using latest version of GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm). I can download CBS videos. Maybe you should install latest version of GetFLV.
It was painful lol but I upgraded GetFLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/GetFLV-Download-and-convert-flash-video-streaming.htm). Thanks for replying, it's working now.

Testing for the sake of testing. Hi, can someone maybe test the following with the demo version?
testpage url (video link!):
http://www.cbs.com/specials/ultimate_look_back/
==> "THE GOOD WIFE : Tues 10/9c (http://www.cbs.com/specials/ultimate_look_back/video/?pid=W4jMfHdAH9IUON1o5FcDkwsqyY63r1Jh)"
GetFLV 9.0.0.5 catches the stream (in 4 different bitrate options) but can download only 1 stream option!
download result:
GFLV downloads only 1 file.
resolution dimensions: 384x216
bitrate: 268 Kbps
size: 11.9MiB
so where does it say that CBS streams in HD?
GetFLV 9.0.0.5 catches the stream (in 4 different bitrate options) but downloads nothing when i select the "Download"-command.

THE GOOD WIFE
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2898/snap13.th.gif (http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/2898/snap13.gif)
works today. didnt work yesterday. i've switched proxy configuration and now it works!! the screenshot shows how i am downloading all 4 different streaming quality streams (resolution dimensions .. there are 2!):
+ 11.9MB, 268kbps, 384x216, 24fps
+ 16.6MB, 400kbps, 640x360, 24fps
+ 27.2MB, 700kbps, 640x360, 24fps
+ 44.9MB, 1200kbps, 640x360, 24fps
And as we can see, none of the streams is "HD" or "720p". On the other hand, the 1200kbps-stream is HIGH QUALITY: when you maximize the picture to full screen, the picture looks really really brilliant.
True "HD" quality is reserved for prime time shows, see:
_http://cbsentertainment.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/877
Doing a test:
The Big Bang Theory - The Herb Garden Germination
Air Date: 04/07/11
Full Episode 21:03
_http://www.cbs.com/primetime/big_bang_theory/video/?vs=Full Episodes
i get:
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/8167/snap14u.th.gif (http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/8167/snap14u.gif)
and the 4 different quality streams are:
+ 50.8MB, 384x216, 268 kbps, 24fps
+ 68.9MB, 640x360, 400 kbps, 24fps
+ 116MB, 640x360, 700 kbps, 24fps
+ 191MB, 640x360, 1200 kbps, 24fps
Again, there is no "720p" (1280×720) as you can see.
The 191MB file looks really good on the screen .. so there still isnt any evidence that CBS broadcasts in 1280x720, am i right? :)
RMC4 downloads CBS streams the same:
+ 50.8MB, 384x216, 268 kbps, 24fps
+ 68.9MB, 640x360, 400 kbps, 24fps
+ 116MB, 640x360, 700 kbps, 24fps
+ 191MB, 640x360, 1200 kbps, 24fps
There is no video in 1280x720! :p
