I understand the basics of using rtmpdump (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/rtmpdump-freeware-console-RTMP-downloading-application.htm), but can't figure out the advanced usages.

For example: _http://www.awol.tv/episodes/1?episode=128

Uses an embeded swf player that loads the rtmp stream... I cannot for the life of me figure this out...

rtmpdump -r rtmp://stream.awol.tv/cfx/st -a cfx/st -y mp4:media/e3/awol_E3-S1_532p.mov -o output.mp4 -V

If you use Linux, you can find parameters for rtmpdump (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/rtmpdump-freeware-console-RTMP-downloading-application.htm) using rtmpsrv and rtmpsuck.

If you use Windows, you can download RTMP streams with many GUI programs including commercial Replay Media Catcher (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Replay-Media-Catcher-HTTP-RTMP-FLV-MP3-ripper-recorder.htm), freeware CooJah+Blader (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/Blader-freeware-RTMP-downloader.htm), StreamTransport (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/StreamTransport-Download-HTTP-RTMP-RTMPE-streams.htm).
