Hi, ive been using WMP10 for quite a while. Now ive upgraded to Windows 7, im stuck with WMP12. I only want to use Windows Media 10 because it supports nested playlists which is how ive organised all my music, Main playlist--->Contains a playlist for each artist---> Contains their albums. Is there anyway I can use WM10 in Windows 7?

Thanks

There are many good players you can use instead like AIMP, Winamp, Foobar2000,... IMHO WMP is the worst player (likewise I.E. is the worst web browser :D )

Mate, Your opinion is fantastic, but it doesnt do a single thing towards answering the question does it.
You figured it out is200? I have the same problem, and any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

My idea doesn't solve the problem with using WMP10 in Windows 7, but many alternative programs are much faster and have a nice way of organizing music, so I suggested to go that way.

I don't really know how to use WMP 10 in Windows 7. You should probably ask M$ to add feature that you like.

If you own Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate you can try to install XP Mode and use WMP 10 in this mode.

Well ive tried out winamp, foobar. None of them two actually support nested playlist. Although just like in media player 11, mp12 shows the nested playlist in skin mode, try it 1161774, but it doesnt let you add another playlist to the playlist.

Sorry, I've never used nested playlists. Most probably there were replaces with smart playlists, so you may want to learn more about them.

Many programs allow you to search by artist and title, so if your songs are properly tag you can easily find and select the music that you want to play. Hope this helps...

p.s. I'm very disappointed by Windows Media Player 12. I've never liked WMP, but IMHO WMP 10 and 11 were much better. The main reason for that is that I can either see a playlist or watch or video.

MediaMonkey supports nested playlists, but I've never tried it. Besides MediaMonkey 3.1.1 has various compatibility problems with Windows 7...

You can install Windows Media Player 10 in Windows 7:
Guide: How to install Windows Media Player (WMP) 10 in Windows 7

But I don't really like this idea.

I can show you a screenshot with WMP 10 in Windows 7. Althouth there are many editions of Win7, plus x32 and x64 versions...
The only thing I can suggest to make it work is to repeat the process with each .inf file twice.

IMHO WMP is the worst player (likewise I.E. is the worst web browser :D )I wouldnt agree with that!!

In fact i think WMP9 is the BEST version of WMP (As i think IE6 is the nicest looking IE version)
