I try triming ASF and WMV files of live streaming video I recorded. when I click on the TRIM button or the OUTPUT folder and name the file a window comes up and says it's triming the file but it does nothing. It satys at 0% and there is no progress bar. I've tried 5 times waiting up to 10 minutes on some attempts but it never starts the process. Can I get some help on this? I'm using the latest downloaded version.
Windows XP SP3/2.16 duo processor/3 gig ram/101 gigs of free space.
Thank you,
Lorey

Hi Lorey

Quick answer - run in admin mode. make sure to mark both the beginning and end of the item. Highlight it and select thumb up or down and then trim. If still have problem contact tech support and they can get more in dept than I can :)

I hope this helps.

I assume you mean to log into Windows with an admin account. I have done this and I have the same problem as the OP. I have done what you said and contacted tech support for WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) as there was no support page for splitter. I will post the resolution if/when it becomes available.

Background Info
I am running Vista32 with 4G RAM. And splitter is v1.7.911.12. I followed the user's guide and it gets stuck on "now splitting the sequence" when trying to save/render the video clip. File format is asf.

I don't really know how to solve your problem.

I have notified the company about the absence of the support page for WM Splitter. Your ticket was submitted, so hopefully it was redirected to the correct department and the problem will be solved.

AFAIK the WM Splitter is similar to Replay Media Splitter. Support forum for Replay Media Splitter (http://forum.applian.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9) has lots of answers, so reading it may help you.

WM Splitter doesn't work on xp sp2 1g ram on a dell netbook. This is the demo version. Demo limited to 90 seconds of video, tried saving just a smidgen and no go.

Yes I shall try that other forum for some answers, thanks. Why are there none here? Is WM Splitter new?

WM Splitter is a fairly new product - their support team has been notified, hopefully they'll have something up soon. :)

Hi there. Yes I intend to post the resolution when it becomes available. But I should have posted the progress. The problem has been reproduced by applian and has been sent to 2nd level support. It's been quite awhile since I last heard from them.

The workaround is to convert the file to another format using their converter, and then edit the converted file. But when I do that there is video corruption unfortunately. I can't win! (It's probably just me.)

Since much time has gone by, I no longer have any use for the product, and I don't think I could get a refund since it is software. But nonetheless, I shall post the resolution so that others can benefit from the outcome. But it looks like it will need a software fix.

I'll keep y'all posted! Have a great day. :)

They have a 30-day unconditional money-back guarantee.

If they can't fix the problem, you can try to ask them kindly and they still may send a refund or exchange WM Splitter for another product.
