Windows Media Player,when i go to play ,message says the following:
security upgrade required/drm component,the owner of the protected content you are trying to access require you to 1st upgrade some of your microsoft digital rights management {drm components,when u click ok, a unique identifier and a drm security file will be sent to a microsoft service on the internet.

the file is replaced with a customized version that contains your unique identifier...

please tell me is this safe and exactly what is this all about? thanks

The is a preventative measure from using DRM removal tools. If you upgrade WMP, you won't be able to use them. Otherwise you won't be able to play DRM protected content from this provider.

As for upgrades from microsoft, they are safe. Make sure it is indeed from M$.
