I have modified the rtmpdump to add new option (-J | --weeb) to download or watch weeb.tv without interruption. i have also written a php script to automatically retrieve the authentication ticket and launch vlc. you just need to provide the url of channel page.

you need to install php in order to run this script.
you can launch it from command line
php WeebTV.php http://weeb.tv/online/hbo2
or

just double click WeebTV.php script and it will ask for url.

This is the BIG advantage of rtmpsuck. You don't need to know any connection parameters!


But instead of just collecting parameters that can later be used with rtmpdump, it runs in a passthru mode so that it can just save the data while the client is running. The main reason rtmpsuck is useful is because it should work regardless of whatever silly security token methods might be in use on a client or server. Since it just operates in passthru mode, it doesn't need to understand what those security methods are, it just has to pass them thru faithfully.

OK I got it working on Windows, I included in my batchfile, it works great. :D

Apparently the script sometimes doesn't bypass the viewer's limit or just can not connect to the server while it's very busy.

script uses a trick to bypass the viewer's limit and it works in most cases. server busy message is only displayed when their server doesn't send auth ticket for whatsoever reason. probably they don't have very strong backend at server side and server chokes when many people are connected simultaneously.

I'm using your script daily, even thought I have premium account on weeb.tv, because I'm always viewing several streams at once, and it's just more comfortable this way.
I really like the idea of bat files generated per channel but they simply don't work, stream opens for few sec and closes with "downloaded" message always. With manual input (php WeebTV.php http://weeb.tv/online/hbo2) it happens also sometimes, but changing /online/ to channel, c, kanal or live helps sometime.

i suspected so.

generated bat files are not reusable because weeb ticket expires after few minutes. batch files just work as intermediary for piping to work correctly from script. if you don't wanna generate multiple files you can easily change that in script.

change the command in script to save output file instead of launching vlc. then you can directly use the script for scheduling.

You can record streams with VLC. Once you launch Weeb streams, in VLC you click on CTRL+R to start recording and when you want to stop it you click again on CTRL+R.
Your video will be saved on default in :
C:\Documents and Settings\User name\My Documents\My videos

official version of vlc doesn't support rtmp protocol so lua script will not be helpful.

I think you only have to replace VLC path in PHP script to "/usr/bin/vlc" and it should work.

Displayed channel list is already sorted alphabetically. ksort function of php does not have have any option to ignore case while sorting so channel names starting with small letters (e.g nFilm) are sorted after channel names starting with capital letters.

@ryki After launching stream from ksv script in VLC you can record it just fine, just choose in VLC to show advanced controls from view menu, there you'll have record button, recorded stuff is placed in "Videos" and is named vlc-record-date-somethingsomething by default.

It's pretty unreliable though, because streams from weeb.tv break often thus stopping recording, and it won't resume automatically.

These channels aren't working in recent script for me somehow, instead of tvp1 and 2, I'm getting tvp hd and tvn7 hd.
And manual input results in tvp2 usually.... Weird.
Also looks like you can stream only one channel of each at the time now.

I've met another problem. When I'm changing channels there is a moment, when I'm cut out. I'm trying to open any channel but app is not starting (but few seconds later it was running). Are there any IP limitations which could cause this problem?

While i was writing this post, it was down... but 10 minutes later everything was working.
I think that i found the key on weeb forum.
With fast changing of channels (within 3 minutes 40-50 times) it may be down. Each IP address or the person has a limited number of premium codes / at a given moment.

KSV, I have a request, could you add something like -nonstop switch? And it would resume stream infinitely no matter if it was disrupted by user or by itself, until killed?
Also, could you consider supporting other player? Like mplayerWW or potplayer (preferably, probably best player atm), not sure if it's even implementable, but could you check them?

The rtmpdump.exe works without any problems under wine. Just change the "rtmpdump" call in weebtv.php to "wine rtmpdump" and it works, using linux version of VLC.

Premium account support is simple. All that is needed is set cookies:

weeb-tv_username username
weeb-tv_userpassword password

And you will be logged in :)

PS. This is big hole in security to send password in plaintext with cookies...

I've noticed, that video stops only if Multibitrate (HD 1280x720) mode is on (liveHI),
maybe they are limiting transfer somehow, because multibitrate in vlc is much better then in their player at website, where it's playing without any problems...

It's called TiWi - you can arrange list of programs - add, delete, move up, move down and restore default list if something went wrong. It has vlc and there's no need to install php, everthing is build-in - just run exe, type login & pass and watch! Only requirement is to have .NET Framework 3.5 installed, but most of you should already have it, so don't bother :)

things are working for now. will tell you if required.

for non windows users:

for the people who are trying to compile the patch for other systems instead of using just the make command add following switch to it.

XLDFLAGS="-lm -static"

-lm will link the math library required by combined patch (included by default in MinGW) and -static will compile the rtmpdump statically removing dependency on shared librtmp.so and thus avoiding problems in which rtmpdump loads the wrong librtmp.so installed elsewhere on the system.

Today the new update came out ... TV from KSV is not working.

They have pushed the update to premium servers also. so it requires a little change in the script. now script also contains settings file "WeebTV.xml" which has the following settings so you no longer have to directly edit the script file.

premium users can fill their username password in this file. delete HI in quality setting to switch to lower quality streams in case of MultiBitrate streams. script output will also tell you if premium account is active or not. if you get the error message NetStream.Play.Failed it means limits are active for free users. premium users should not have any such problem. test and provide feedback (especially premium users).

They started update on 11 dec and it was finally completed on 16 dec. few solutions posted during this time were just stopgap solutions. after they have closed the loophole for free users (so they can sell more premium accounts) i don't see any reason to release any update soon.

now every thing (Authentication token, premium user status etc.) is verified on the rtmp server level so there are slim chances for free riders.

no you can't bypass the user limit. however you can bypass the transfer limit by changing your ip. restart the script after changing your ip.

i don't know any way of removing user limit however you can easily bypass transfer limit (30 minute wait limit) by changing your IP. most ISP's provide dynamic IP to home users so you just need to redial your connection or restart your modem/router to get new IP. also restart the script to take new changes effect.

If you share it over one ip address(at home) you won't be ban. I'm afraid if you share account with 3-4 different ip addresses you won't be able to watch anything. You will see this message: "Stop !Adres IP uległ zmianie lub ktoś inny korzysta z Twojego konta"

Zattoo work with Flash streams incapsulated in HTTP. My script work fine outside Swiss. You must run Vidalia first of script, with torrc file modificated with exitnodes {ch} like here:

If they make changes so often, this may be a good idea to put KSV script to github or somewhere where everyone can make modification and keep this up to date.

Someone asks about DLNA, I modified a little KSV script and make my own config and scripts to stream weeb.tv through Mediatomb to PS3 and Samsung TV (for Linux). The solution is described unfortunately in Polish - if someone is interested and able to read it's here (http://hdtvpolska.com/topic/27126-weebtv-przez-dlna-linux-rtmpdump-mediatomb/).

Maybe I had some older script then, and I needed to introduce fred128 patch to have the premium working again.

It's really strange, but premium users are unable to watch anything
while there's status 'for premium only', so something is wrong with logging...

Tried to watch HBOs channels, sometimes it works,
but very often I've got the same problem as yesterday now:
Connecting ...
INFO: Connected...
INFO: Token.authorization
ERROR: Closing connection: NetStream.Play.Failed
I'm using premium account, via website it works...

EDIT: there is new link to web player: http://static2.weeb.tv/player.swf

EDIT2: I had old version of rtmpdump, now it works in most cases, but sometimes there's still token authorization error.
