thanks for the link, and going the extra mile of coverting them to srt! but i need to know how. there's a lot of videos on Vice that require subtites for non-english speaking parts. please help!

Start FireFox, open Web Console (Ctrl-Shift-K), open required video, when video/subtitles starts to play - type "/cc/" in 'Filter' section of web console, you should see URL like "GET hxxp://blabla.com/5xNHhlZDpogCEdKdhs76xYxQfpf9lPK0/cc/198534870 [HTTP/1.1 200 OK 297ms]", right-click on it, select from menu "Open URL in New Tab", in new tab "Save Page As...".
In some cases cleaning of recent history may be required.
