I'm trying to record from The Current (minnesota public radio) which streams on the internet: http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/services/the_current/streams.shtml
I'm able to save a copy of the audio stream, but I have not been able to find a program that can successfully split the tracks and name the files automatically. The music is indie/ecletic, which may be the problem. I've tried Replay Music (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/Replay-Music-record-any-web-radio-station-or-streaming-music-service.htm) 3.3 and WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) 11 so far.
Any thoughts?

Radio can be a bit tricky, as there needs to be a definet 'pause' or silence for the recorders to know the song is over and a new one has started. Let me look into a few things and follow up on this...

Great! Thanks for any help.
The station streams a caption/subtitle that displays the title and artist of the song in the media player. Perhaps that could somehow be used help name the songs automatically?

I had no any problem recording Windows Media audio stream with WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) in the PRO mode.

I haven't tried to record MP3 stream from this web-site, but I'm pretty sure many Shoutcast stream rippers (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/mp3-audio-stream-rippers-grabbers-Download-live-Icecast-Shoutcast-compatible-radio-stations.htm) will be able to do that.

Streamripper (http://streamripper.sourceforge.net/)(with Winamp) works! However, it splits the tracks 15-30 sec off from the actual change in song. The song splitting seems to coincide with when the radio station changes the song title/artist displayed in my media player.

Replay Music (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/Replay-Music-record-any-web-radio-station-or-streaming-music-service.htm) rarely identified the song correctly, and when it did, it often included several minutes of other songs in that song file.

I wasn't able to get WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) to identify and split the tracks at all.

So far, Streamripper is the best, but far from perfect.

Any one have a better method?

It splits track when metadata changes. Actually the algorithm is more complicated. See the official web-site for more.

It really depends on the music you listen and whether the songs are overlapped or not.

WM Recorder (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/WMRecorder-One-click-online-audio-video-stream-recorder.htm) doesn't support song splitting and tagging.

You can try lots of other Shoutcast stream rippers (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-audio-stream/mp3-audio-stream-rippers-grabbers-Download-live-Icecast-Shoutcast-compatible-radio-stations.htm)
