Hi Folks,

I have genuinely tried about five different streaming sound recorders but none will record the radio on my PC
I used to use "Absolute Recorder" but had to re-install Windows 7 Ultimate.
I like to listen to the radio on my PC via i-Player.
Nothing will now record what is on the PC now and me head is about to explode.   :(  ;)
I gather that what the problem is effects all the players I have tried.
Audacity
Free Sound recorder
Adrosoft AD
Absolute
Can anyone put me out of my misery?

Do you have the Stereo Mix / Wave-Out Mix / What U Hear ?

If you don't have it, see the following thread:
Missing sound recording option "Stereo Mix" / "Record What you hear" / "Waveout mix"

Also instead of recording radio from sound card, you may try to download the radio stream. What web-page are you trying to record from?

Hi, I'm not trying to download a sound file. Just want to record from the radio playing on my PC.
I don't have any of the sound control boxes as shown in the thread.
I've got

Your stereo mix might be be among disabled devices. Or you may need to find a driver with the stereo mix. See the thread mentioned above to find out more.

Thank you.
At first I thought it was the applications but, after half a dozen, I gather it is me.
Take care
Ken

I have clicked every button related to sound I can find.
Now I can hear the recording but it is very distant and crackly.
I've moved forward but only by a midges nudger.
I'm now using Absolute recorder again.

Do you have the Stereo Mix or something similar?

Have you tried to download this radio stream?
