Hey all,
I am trying to download this video:
http://stream.nbcsports.com/premier-league/stoke-city-arsenal
If this link is giving you trouble, use this one as an example instead:
http://stream.nbcsports.com/premier-league/liverpool-crystal-palace
I can get a link like this:
http://sprtott3-i.akamaihd.net/hls/live/222321/NBC-Sports0819053211/OTT3_VIDEO_6_364000_vod.m3u8
However, whenever using youtube-dl of livestreamer, I get a 403 error.
Anyone know how to download EPL videos from NBCSports streams?

Mozilla Firefox + Video DownloadHelper - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/
works perfectly

I know I can download videos from just nbcsports.com, but those aren't the streams that are hosted on a different server and are configured differently.

have you got a username and password to test it on, the two links are asking for login details

It looks like it has drm (fairplay, widevine, primetime)

I personally have a login, but I don't feel comfortable sharing it. Sorry I can't explain.

Sounds promising. Can you elaborate?

It is not promising. Many nbcsports streams have drm using SAMPLE-AES encryption.
See here (https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=207159&pid=2563406#pid2563406)
No easy solution at the moment.

Darn. Youtube-dl has support for a login, which works on some servers like AMC, but seemingly doesn't work with stream.nbcsports. I can also personally download/access that akamai m3u8 file through my browser, but command line programs can't access it.

Downloading the akamai m3u8 isn't the problem. Streamlink will download it just fine, so long as the full m3u8 url is provided.
But it won't do any good, because it will choke on the SAMPLE-AES encryption after it has successfully downloaded the master m3u8 and the variant m3u8 and the first couple of ts segments, because it (or anything else) can't decrypt the SAMPLE-AES encryption.
Work is being done with inputstream.adaptive for the encryption with kodi, but it is a lot of work.

OK... thanks for the info and explanation. Oh well.
