Hello stinkfoot. Have been waiting since a long time and posted a lot of request but no reply so trying one last time since i see stinkfoot active again.
Please please tell us how you got the direct link of starsports.com video.

I did as you said to root your phone and install network logging to capture the direct link. I did that and tried almost 10+ network logging software but nothing happened.

I even tried network sniffing and packet capture software too but nothing happened. Packet capture software sent me m3u8 link so i stopped trying.

Now i see you active so a last try:

why do you need direct link if livestreamer already works?

its not just livestreamer but some people outside India can't access same m3u8(which sscomp can, and I can't) whereas Stinkfoot's cache link for same link actually worked for starsports. Just not sure how he pulled it, and trying to emulate same for hotstar.

why do you need direct link if livestreamer already works?

Because i dont have a stable connection and livestreamer does not support resume. 50% of the time the video i want to download gets interrupted and i have to download it all over again. Also livestreamer does not work in a slow connection.

Where as i can download the direct link using IDM which supports resume and also works in slow connection.

Don't know how but stinkfoot pulled the direct link for star sports and hotstar works on same technology so wanted to know if it can do again for hotstar or not.

1 - use your computer as a wifi spot for your phone

2 - install starsports app on phone

3 - use wireshark on your computer to monitor the network logs (as phone data passes through your computer via its wifi)

4 - in wireshark, look for the mp4 protocol

of course proper india IP is needed

yup, I was hoping to avoid this... I know how to do this but this won't work for me as I'm outside of India. So SSCOMP, you're on your own, and waiting for what details you can provide.

no, idea is to capture traffic for your smartphone(apps). way you can capture is, have the internet for your smartphone go through your computer, so computer can record smartphone traffic.

so, under your wifi settings(if on android, just hold your wifi and go to modify network, then show advance options and under proxy settings use manual, and put your computer's IP address under proxy hostname and save it. Now when you're not doing this logging, make sure you modify network and change proxy settings to None, or your phone will always try to go through computer and your internet won't connect on your smartphone if you walk away from your network.

once above is done, simply turn on logging under wireshark/fiddler/charles (you may find latter 2 easier to work with), and when you open app on phone you'll see traffic being captured under these tools.
