any good ideas? tried mediapimp video downloadhelper and youtube-dl but it seems there is now an option for uploader to block all that

anyone knows how to circumvent ?

i wanted all 5 of these; in fact i only just trying to play them through mpv and vlc since browsers on Ubuntu make hd a stutter-fest

but those will not even play through mpv and vlc


so i need to download them to see them with no stutter



how does one? i am on ubuntu but it must affect other platforms too since it is a yt issue

no issues on windows for all qualities using http.

are you saying you can download these easily on Windows? or do you mean just play them?

what is ssl ? this? (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Sockets_Layer) and how would i change my settings in regards to that?

PS let me clarify so we know what is not working

the videos play in the browser but badly as flash is rubbish on linux

for me a good workaround always is to play the url through vlc or mpv
or to download the video with youtube-dl mediapimp or video downloadhelper and play in a player


but many new yt vids will not do this and a code 403 appears as can be seen above

as regards 192k yes i know you can do --extract-audio
and that is fine

but what i was saying is that

when you download best in youtube-dl or through mediapimp or video downloadhelper you only get 720p check it !

so the only way to get 1080p-192k


is to go -f 137 for 1080p and to mux that with 192k from --extract-audio if you see what i mean

You didn't mux, you converted.
That's why it took so long. :mad:
The FFmpeg command needed -vcodec copy -acodec copy.
When muxing, only takes a few seconds. :)

well Bat I must have a really dicky version of ffmpeg because it gives a half second mux with -vcodec copy -acodec copy leaving me with only the audio in the outcoming file


I had tried the -c option before I did my reencode because I had had no joy that route

You can get the 256k audio (and other dash formats) with youtube-dl by using the experimental option:

--youtube-include-dash-manifest

And youtube-dl can (also experimental) use ffmpeg for automatic muxing of seperate video and audio streams with:

-f video+audio

so you get:

It will download both video and audio and combines it with ffmpeg.
