Hey guys im new here and want to first thank you guys for any input or help you can give.
This is the scenario i have: i use Ustream to live stream our church services at church. There is a program that works with ustream called adobe flash media live encoder. what i do is launch adobe flash media player first and then i start Internet explorer and go to ustream and start live streaming our church service.
the problem i have is the adobe flash program only records the service in .flv. I want to get some software that will record the service audio/video to the harddrive while i live stream on Ustream.
Anyone know a software that will allow me to use ustream to livestream the church service and also record the service to the harddrive? all your help is much appreciated.

UStream.TV allows you to record your own broadcasts:
How to record your UStream.TV broadcast
To record your broadcast, open the broadcast console,

click ‘start broadcast’,

and then click ‘start record.’

When you are finished recording, click ‘stop record’ and save your recording information. You must enter text into all fields before saving your video. Note: while Ustream allows unlimited recording, the broadcast console will ask you to save your video after three hours of continuous recording. If you will be doing a large recording, simply save your information and start recording again after three hours.

What format do you want to use to record your live streams and save them to the hard drive?

Currently i am Saving our broadcasts with Ustream. And thats good, but i also want to be able to record directly to the harddrive. I am able to do that right now but adobe flash encoder that ustream works with only records in .flv so then i have to convert the video and a file type that i can directly burn to a dvd so that people can watch it on there tv at the house. So i guess what im needing is a program that will record the service in a format that all i have to do is, as soon as the service is over burn that service to a dvd and hand it out to people. I dont want to have to spend 15-30 minutes converting the service over to a usable format and then burn. i hope i made some sense in all that hahaha

If you don't want to convert anything (and this really can take a lot of time), you may try to record videos from your screen using screen video capture software (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/). Just record into MPEG-2 format that can be easily edited and burnt to DVD-Video.

So how do you think big churches are doing it or big companies? theres gotta be a program that i can run that will record the video in a format other than .flv

A stream capture program (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-stream/all-streaming-video-recording-software.htm) can't download a stream in any format you choose. It downloads whatever format the site that is streaming the video uses. As Stream Recorder stated, you can use a screen recorder program (http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-screen/), or you can always convert the FLV (http://all-streaming-media.com/convert-audio-video-files/WM-Converter-audio-video-file-conversion-within-WM-Recorder.htm) after the fact.
